Rishabh Pant, known for his aggressive intent in batting, is an Indian cricketer who features for the Delhi Capitals franchise in the IPL. He is also the captain of the side, who plays the role of a wicket-keeper batter. Pant will make his comeback through the 2024 IPL season as he was unavailable in the 2023 IPL season due to a car accident.

A fearless, hard-hitting left-handed wicketkeeper-batter, Rishabh Pant, was the blue-eyed boy in Indian domestic cricket in 2015/16 courtesy of his breathtaking exploits in age-group and domestic tournaments. And, so, it did not come as a surprise to those who had seen a teenage Pant smack the white ball without a care in the world when he was picked up by the Delhi Capitals for INR 1.9 crore ahead of the 2016 season.Pant endured humble beginnings as he managed just 198 runs in 10 innings @24.75/130.26. However, he did not take long to stamp his mark on the tournament.The next three seasons saw the peak of Pant- the T20 batter- as he went on to smash 366 @ 26.14/165.61, 684 @ 52.61/173.60, and 488 @ 37.53/162.66 to establish himself as one of the icons of the league.The last three seasons have been underwhelming by his standards, with 2020 and 2021 being the worst as he struggled on slow and sluggish tracks of the UAE.Pant was appointed skipper of DC ahead of the 2021 season after regular captain Shreyas Iyer got ruled out due to a shoulder injury.However, DC decided to stick with the southpaw even after Iyer returned for the 2nd leg of IPL 2021. Under Pant, Delhi lost both Qualifiers 01 and 02 to bow out of the season.In 2022, Pant was retained as a player and as captain of the Capitals'. He did decently as a batter, scoring 340 runs @ 30.91/151.79 but struggled as captain as DC failed to make it to the playoffs for the first time since 2019.On 30th December 2022, Pant met with a horrible accident while riding his car to his hometown Roorkee. Due to this, he suffered multiple injuries and went through various surgeries. He also missed the 2023 IPL but his IPL salary (INR 16 crore) was paid by the BCCI through an insurance company.Now, Pant is fully fit and will make his comeback through the 2024 IPL season as a captain for the Delhi Capitals.

Rishabh Pant was picked up by the Delhi Capitals for INR 1.9 crores ahead of the 2016 auction.
