One of the most effective all-rounders of the modern era, Ravindra Jadeja has proven his worth in all the formats of the game for both the Indian cricket team and his current IPL squad, the Chennai Super Kings.
In First Class Cricket, Jaddu became the first Indian player to record three triple hundreds. He also set a personal best of 175* in international cricket. Jadeja was the vice-captain of the Indian U-19 squad that won the ICC U-19 World Cup in 2008, captained by Virat Kohli. He also briefly captained the Chennai Super Kings in the 2022 season

One of the few players who has featured in the Indian Premier League (IPL) right from its inception, Ravindra Jadeja became an IPL champion in the inaugural season itself, where he featured for the Rajasthan Royals. His impactful presence lower down the order and his brilliant fielding impressed the Late Shane Warne, who went on to give him the nickname "Rockstar Jadeja"
However, Jadeja's association with the Royals ended with the 2009 season. He was handed a suspension from the 2010 edition by the IPL Governing Council for reportedly entertaining offers from other franchises. Jadeja was back on the auction table in 2011, where newbies Kochi Tuskers claimed his services for INR 4.3 Crores.
However, the franchise disbanded in 2012, and the spin-bowling all-rounder found a new home in the form of the Chennai Super Kings. With the Super Kings getting suspended for two seasons in 2015, Jadeja played for his state franchise- Gujarat Lions- in 2016 and 2017.
He returned to CSK in 2018, and thus started a phase where the often misfiring T20 batsman would start justifying his talent with consistent performances. He also captained the team in 2022, although only for a few matches

Ravindra Jadeja IPL Auction Price
After winning the 2008 ICC U-19 World Cup, Ravindra Jadeja was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals for INR 12 Lakh at the 2008 IPL auction. Before being suspended in the 2010 season for breaking the IPL code of conduct, he played for the Rajasthan Royals for 2 consecutive seasons.
In 2011, the spin-bowling all-rounder made a comeback after being signed by the Kochi Tuskers. Nevertheless, the team disbanded after just one season, and CSK then paid INR 9.2 crore to acquire Jadeja's services from 2012-2015.
After the CSK expulsion in the 2015 and 2016 seasons, Jadeja played for his home state of Gujarat Lions throughout those two seasons.
After making his way back to CSK in 2018, he was named the captain for the 15th season and was retained for a staggering INR 16 Crores ahead of the 2022 auction. Jadeja was retained by CSK ahead of the 2024 mini-auction.
