Lucas Herbert defeated Bezuidenhout in a sudden-death playoff at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic in January 2020. He was in the lead going into his final hole, but his third shot into the water resulted in a bogey finish. A birdie on the second extra hole ultimately cost him the playoff.

He entered the top 50 on the Official World Golf Ranking the following month after winning the Dimension Data Pro-Am in South Africa. Coming into the final hole, Bezuidenhout was down by one stroke, but he shot an eagle 3 to defeat George Coetzee by one.

Bezuidenhout won the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek Country Club in November 2020. His final round of 69 was good enough for a four-shot victory. Adrian Meronk, who was in the lead after 54 holes, lost it by shooting a final round 76.

In the South African Open, which was held at Gary Player Country Club a week later, Bezuidenhout won without a single error. Since Justin Rose in 2017, he was the first golfer to win back-to-back tournaments on the European Tour.

In July 2022, Bezuidenhout achieved his best result on the PGA Tour. He trailed J.T. Poston by three shots as he tied for second place at the John Deere Classic. Additionally, this outcome qualified him for the 2022 Open Championship. Bezuidenhout was chosen for the international team to compete in the 2022 Presidents Cup in September of that year. He played in two matches, winning one and tying the other.
