- It's absolutely roasting in the middle. This is pitch number 2 and it looks rock hard. There is less grass on this surface and there will be less pace. Farooqi uses the conditions to his favour after he didn't he get any swing in the first ODI. I don't find any difference on this surface to the first game. For the spinners, the ball will keep low just like it did in the first ODI. South Africa need to play sweeps and slog sweeps to open scoring options. Powerplay can be tricky and once you go through that phase, this wicket is a good to bat on

Hashmatullah Shahidi (captain, Afghanistan): Congratulations to the nation on the series win. We are playing South Africa for the first time in a series and have won the first two games. All the performances were good. Gurbaz started the innings well, he stitched a partnership with Rahamat and we asked Azmat to continue from there on. South African openers did well but I know that my spinners with deliver. Rashid, Nangeyalia and Nabi did well. He (Rahmat Shah) looks good as of now and we hope he is okay and fit for the next game. (A message for the Afghan people in Pashto)

Temba Bavuma (captain, South Africa): I think for the openers it is the job to lay the foundation. Tony and I laid the foundations and wickets fell at regular intervals and not a lot to learn from this game. Overall a poor showing. You have got to be as positive as you can, not a lot of time between Sunday. We need to step up in batting, with bowling we need to pick up ten wickets. Omarzai in the middle put us under pressure and was a reason to get them to the score. Gurbaz is a quality batter, he got in and played a big knock. One of me or Tony should have stayed for long in the middle

Rashid Khan has been adjudged Player Of The Match for his five-wicket haul! Here's what he has to say: Five-for after a long time, got a hamstring, had it a month before as well. Bit unlucky, try my best to stay on the ground, try to contribute to the team as much as I can. Big opportunity as well to win the series against a big team, my contribution needed to be the key, so I had to go and stay there till the end. I really enjoy bowling with youngsters, like Nangyal. Whenever we bowl together we have those conversations, lots of ideas to share with, even in the nets. The beauty of it is that they follow what they receive, and they listen and learn. They deliver, too, the way Nangyal did today. Good to see youngsters coming up and showing their talent in a big stage against South Africa. We had a big opportunity to win a series against South Africa, the love for this game pushes you to play. I thought I am able to play, able to bowl, able to stay on the field till the end. Good job done by the physio as well.

Afghanistan showed that the win in the first game was not by chance as they trounced them again and sealed the series. They didn't give South Africa an inch, and now they will be upbeat heading into the series finale, where they will be looking to give a run to the players who didn't get a chance on this tour.

Chasing 311 at a venue where 285 was the highest total chased was always going to be a tall ask and South Africa started off nicely, scoring 73 for the first wicket. It looked like Bavuma and de Zorzi could take the game but Azmatullah dismissed Bavuma, becoming the only pacer to pick up a wicket for Afghanistan in this contest. From then on, it was Rashid Khan and Nangayalia Kharote who ran the show. Between them, the pair picked up nine wickets, with the birthday boy Rashid Khan picking five of them as Afghanistan completed a comprehensive win over the Proteas.

South Africa will be kicking themselves for not doing enough with the bat in hand. The middle-order collapse cost them the game as barring Aiden Markram, none of them could stay for a long time and succumbed to the pressure of the required run rate or to some really good deliveries. 34.2 Nangeyalia Kharote to Lungi Ngidi, TIMBER! And that is that - Afghanistan will claim the ODI series! Kharote spears this on a length around off stump, Ngidi looked to have a big heave across the line on one knee, was nowhere near making contact, and had his stumps re-arranged. As clinical a performance as they come from the hosts!
