That's all from us then! We hope you enjoyed our coverage of this one off Test match between Bangladesh and Afghanistan! This is Soumarya Dutta signing off on behalf of my friend and co-commentator Bidipto Datta! See you soon and stay tuned to Sportskeeda's live coverage for all the latest cricketing action!
Litton Das, Bangladesh Captain - I am really happy with the way my boys played in such conditions! Credit goes to our batters, especially the likes of Shanto and Zakir for the way they batted! The bowlers did a great job too especially the seamers! We've some great quality bowlers and we back them to do the job for us!
Najmul Hossain Shanto has been adjudged the Player of the Match. Here is what he has to say!
Najmul Hossain Shanto: Really happy that I played so well in this match. Scoring two hundreds in the same match is very pleasing. I think our bowlers bowled really well on this wicket, credit must go to them. I treasure scoring runs in Test cricket and hope to keep it going for my team.
Hashmatullah Shahidi (Afghanistan captain): I am feeling better, just had scans and it seems okay now. We had some positives but failed to put together a good show on the whole. The thing is that we are playing Test cricket after a long time. As much as we play, we will learn and get better, surely.
It is time for the post-match presentation!
Match Summary First Innings Bangladesh 382 | Afghanistan 146 Second Innings Bangladesh 425/4 | Afghanistan 115/9
Right so, this has been an incredible session of Test match cricket from Bangladesh and they've managed to knock over Afghanistan in just 1 session on day 4! Afghanistan came in with the overnight score of 45/2 but lost their way soon after Ebadot Hossain struck the first blow of the morning to get rid of Nasir Jamal!
Rahmat Shah and concussion sub Bahir Shah put up a bit of a fight for a while but their resistance ended soon after as Shah was dismissed by Shoriful! Once he was gone, it became a bit of a procession as Taskin Ahmed ran through the Bangladeshi lower order! Karim Janat offered a bit of resistance as he smashed Taijul Islam for a couple of sixes but it proved to be a tad bit too insignificant in the end as Afghanistan succumbed to a mammoth defeat!
The fast bowlers were outstanding for Bangladesh this morning! Ebadot Hossain came in with some real intent and combined with Shoriful to bowl a hostile spell early on! They struck early picking up 3 wickets within the very first hour and from there onwards it was a Taskin Ahmed show! He found his rhythm back in the second innings and ran through the Afghan batting line up! He was unlucky in the end to have missed out on a fifer as the last man, Zahir Khan walked away retired hurt!
Overall, it has been a great game of Test Match cricket for Bangladesh and they've ticked most of the boxes here! Najmul Hossain Shanto will surely be the player of the match for his twin centuries but there were other notable performances too! Mominul Haque surged back to form with a hundred in the second innings as did Skipper Litton Das with a well made unbeaten 66!
The Fast bowlers were also superb for them as they picked up the bulk of the wickets for Bangladesh in both the innings, something that is rare in these sort of conditions! For Afghanistan though, there isn't much to talk about as it has been a below par performance from them! They couldn't match Bangladesh with either Bat or ball in any of the 4 innings played out across the test match! None of their batters too could score a 50 and that will worry them significantly going ahead! There will also be some tired bodies in that dressing room as skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi and Zahir Khan were both retired hurt!
Well, it's been a bit of an anti-climatic finish in the end! Zahir Khan is in real discomfort and he won't be batting any further! And that means Bangladesh have registered a massive victory by 545 runs in this one off Test match!
Zahir has been struck on the body and he is receiving some treatment at the moment!
That was some over from Taskin Ahmed! He got Zahir Khan twice only to be denied by the third umpire! Khan is surviving on thin ice at the moment and it seems like that this innings is on borrowed time now (quiet literally as we've moved into the additional 30 mins)

32.6 Taskin Ahmed to Zahir Khan, over the wicket, OH! Not that short outside leg-stump but this did not get up. Zahir backed away again but copped a blow to the right elbow. No run possible of course but that will hurt Zahir badly! Zakir Khan at short-leg had a shy at the stumps but missed them. Had he not, Zahir would be run out.
