The trophy has been handed to KL Rahul and the players are posing for photographs. The Indian flag is flying high at the stands
Alright! India emerge victorious in their last match of the year. They have to do it the hard way as Bangladesh spinners made life difficult for them in the fourth innings. When their back was against the wall, Iyer and Ashwin showed enough temperament to absorb the pressure and stitched together a match-winning partnership. The ODI series didn't go in India's way but they complete a clean sweep in the ground, which hasn't been happy-hunting for them. On that note, tt's time to end the coverage here, hope you enjoyed it. Until next time, it's Pragadeesh and Soorya signing off
KL Rahul (India Captain): You just trust the guys in the middle. They have played enough cricket but there is always nerves in the dressing room but someone will get their hands up and get the job done. And today, it was Shreyas and Ashwin, who took the responsibility and it wasn't an easy wicket. We never thought it was going to be a cakewalk. They made us work hard in both innings. At 77-7, we lost more wickets than we would've liked but we will address it in a different way when we face the same situation again and come up with different answers. Whatever countries we have gone, we have won and that shows how we groomed the fast bowlers. The spinners are always there Siraj is still learning and Umesh has comeback after a long time and bowled brilliantly
Cheteshwar Pujara is the Player of the Series for topping the run-scorers' charts. Here's what he has to say: It's been a great series. The last game was very competitive. Personally I've been working hard on my game and I wanted a big one. Really pleased with the way things are going. I feel I've found my rhythm. A lot of hard work has been put in to get these runs. I've played a lot of first-class games. If you look at the gap in between Test series, sometimes it's a little longer. Sometimes it's important to play first-class games to stay in touch. And every Test is important for the WTC, you can't relax in any Test. Looking at the situation we have to win each and every Test match. You have to be on top of the game and for that you have to play first-class cricket and stay in touch with the game. (On his journey) That's part of a cricketer's journey. You'll always have ups and downs but you need to be positive and mentally strong. I've played a lot of Test matches. You need to be positive and mentally strong to make a comeback.
Ravichandran Ashwin: It's been a long time, Hello Sanjay. I thought Bangladesh played well and it was one of the games where we have to do it a hard way. Shreyas batted well. In a situation like this we have to think ahead. Bangladesh bowled well but at the same time, we didn't trust our defense either. This is not T20 cricket where we can swing through the line always. Shreyas batted beautifully and all I wanted to do is support him. The ball got soft after 30-35 overs and even in the Chattogram they put us under pressure, credit to them
Ravichandran Ashwin was adjudged the Player of the match
Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh Captain): Everyone contributed. We always know we have a chance in Mirpur. We've been playing really well at this venue. Very good Test cricket, that's what the crowd loves. Credit should go to Shreyas and Ashwin, they absorbed the pressure. We couldn't bowl in partnerships at that point of time. We needed maybe one more wicket and they had two other tail-enders. Lots of ifs and buts but I'm happy with the way we fought. That's my job in the team, to contribute with both bat and ball. Unfortunate that I couldn't bowl much in the first Test but happy with how I bowled in this Test. The attitude of the boys has been impressive. We hope to improve and hopefully next year will give us better results.
India beat Bangladesh by 3 wickets
What a test match this has been. It was topsy-turvy in the fourth innings and kept everyone at the edge of their seats but Iyer and Ashwin had all answers to Bangladesh's spinners, helping the team to cross the finish line eventually. Mehidy Hasan kept Bangladesh in the hunt after he removed the well-set Axar and the in-form Rishabh Pant, and India still needed 71 runs to win when Ashwin joined hands with Iyer. Iyer settled into a nice groove but Ashwin survived some nervy moments and was handed a lifeline by Mominul as he dropped a sitter at short leg.
It was all about nudging ones and twos and punishing the loose deliveries by the duo. Shakib tried everything to break the resolve of these two batters but his attempt was unsuccessful. The crowd was in full voice when Mehidy took the five-fer but Ashwin and Iyer shut them down and took the wind out of Bangladesh's sails with smart batting in the middle.
Iyer's class and Ashwin's temperament helped India to prevail. Bangladesh put up a superb fight but Mominul's dropped catch proved very costly, in fact, match-defining as well.
In a turning track like this, first innings total was very crucial and Bangladesh let themselves down with the bat. Still, they had a lot of positives to look at as they have a young promising opener for the future Zakir Hasan was magnificent throughout the series, while Mehidy Hasan was India's nightmare in this tour as he produced many unforgettable moments
Ashwin punches the air in delight. Bangladesh fought hard, their spinners made this total of 145 look very big with some impressive bowling performances but they came up short, all thanks to a sensational partnership between Iyer and Ashwin in a pressure situation. Hugs and handshakes all around. Indian players in all smiles as they complete the clean sweep

46.6 Mehidy Hasan Miraz to Ravichandran Ashwin, FOUR! ASHWIN FINISHES IT IN STYLE! India get out of jail! A touch short on middle and off stump and Ashwin rocks back for a short-arm jab without the best of control. On the up and he places it wide of mid-on as it races along the lush green outfield and hits the ropes. Oh haven't India got out of a real hole here! What a partnership of defiance and spunk between Ashwin and Shreyas as India scrape through by 3 wickets to take the series 2-0!
The bowling change hasn't worked wonders for Shakib this time. This is the first time that Mehidy is bowling from this end in this innings and he has been punished for a boundary and a six. India just one hit away now
