That will be all from our side for the first T20i between Bangladesh and Ireland. The hosts have ensured a 1-0 lead for themselves and will be keen on adding to it. We will be back with our coverage for the second T20i between the two sides on Wednesday at 1:30 PM IST. Do not forget to tune in! Until then, this is Raghav Tikmany and Pradeep signing off.
Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh captain): That's what we want, in a T20 game it's difficult one guy to contribute throughout and we have guys stepping up all the time. The way the openers batted was brilliant, we didn't know how the wicket would play but the partnerships set the tone. The guys who have come in haven't panicked because of the situation and they seem to enjoy it. The way they've been bowling, couple of guys not getting opportunities but when they do, they'll be equally impressive.
Rony Talukdar is the Player of the Match! He won't be available to collect the trophy as he injured himself and Shakib will collect it on behalf of him.
Paul Stirling (Ireland captain): We got the better conditions, it looked tricky some part and it got easier to bat after rain came, we keep improving and come back stronger on Wednesday. We've started to pick up wickets, wasn't like it last week and something we've talked about, in periods of we've been weaker but we need to be stronger at key moments, we came back well in the last 10 overs. It's always a pleasure to captain this team.
Ireland: 81/5 in 8 overs lose by 22 runs (DLS).
Gareth Delany 21* (14)| Taskin Ahmed 4/10 (2) Paul Stirling 17 (8) | Hasan Mahmud 1/20
It was a comprehensive victory for Bangladesh towards the end. The revised target made the game very volatile and led to some quick momentum shifts. Ireland capitalized on the two-over powerplay by scoring 34 runs in that period. Stirling and Adair came out all guns firing and it looked pretty ominous for the hosts.
However, Hasan Mahmud changed the complexion of the game. He built some pressure on Adair with three dot balls then knocked off his timber in the next one. Taskin completely blew them away in the next over by picking up three wickets. Ireland did have some hope after Delany hit Hasan Mahmud for three boundaries but tight overs from Shakib and Mustafizur pretty much confirmed the victory for Bangladesh. Taskin picked up another wicket in the final over to register his best bowling figures and send his side home.

7.6 Taskin Ahmed to Gareth Delany, THAT'S IT! Bangladesh go 1-0 in the three match T20I series. Back of a length on the off-stump. Delany gets cramped to cut, mistimes it past covers for a single. Bangladesh bowlers held their nerve in the end to pull off a brilliant win!
7.5 Taskin Ahmed to Gareth Delany, FOUR! Another slower one, good length on the stumps. Delany backed away and smashed it down to long-on, fielder gets around but beats him to the fence for another boundary.
7.5 Taskin Ahmed to Gareth Delany, takes the pace off on the fourth stump. Delany was too early into the shot and misses, through to the keeper. Seems like Taskin has overstepped, called a no-ball in the end!
It seems like Rony Talukdar has injured his shoulder here while stopping the ball at deep cover. The physio takes him off the field.
