That's all from this test match. This is me Raghav Tikmany alongside Soorya Sesha signing off. Stay tuned on Sportskeeda for more live-action.
Babar Azam, The Pakistan skipper: They played incredibly well on day 1 and 2 but we came back strongly. This is what test cricket is all about you always have the time to come back. Abid was outstanding and he did well in both innings scoring crucial runs for the side. Shafique was incredible on his debut and he did not fail to please me.
Abid Ali, The Player of The Match: Staying at the wicket and putting up a partnership was our thought process. I'd been playing domestic cricket and doing well, so I brought that into this game. Abdullah is a fantastic player who always let me know when I made a mistake. Credit to him, and I hope he continues to hit like this. I am upset about missing out on twin centuries but as long as Pakistan are winning, I am happy.
Mominul Haque, the Bangladesh skipper: The first hour was crucial and cost us in both innings. Mushi and Litton saw us through in the first innings but credit to Shaheen and Hasan, they were terrific. If we got about 100 more runs, things could've been different.
Pakistan win the first test match by 8 wickets! This has been an excellent battle between the two sides with loads of twists and turns. It was a good outing for the visitors but they had to fight really hard for it. The new ball spell from Shaheen and Hasan in the third innings neutralized Bangladesh's lead. Coming into day 5, there wasn't really much to play for. The match was pretty much in the bag for the visitors and they did not have any hurdles getting through the line.
Solid performance by the visiting openers in both the innings. They were a major difference between the two sides. A good pitch overall for test cricket with something present for the faster bowlers as well as the spinners while supporting the batters too. Bangladesh can take a few positives from this game. They were very much in the battle up until day 3. A better performance against the new ball shall improve their results considerably.

58.3 Mehidy Hasan Miraz to Azhar Ali, FOUR! ALL OVER! AZHAR SEALS IT WITH A BOUNDARY! A nothing length delivery outside leg and Azhar brings out a sweep again to place it backward of square and right along the long leg region. Not the best of timing but the placement will do as the ball rolls away to the fence. What a clinical run chase this has been! Pakistan win by 8 wickets to go 1-0 up in the series!
58.2 Mehidy Hasan Miraz to Azhar Ali, FOUR! EXQUISITE REVERSE SWEEP! Tossed up into a full length on the leg-stump, Azhar plants his front foot forward for a handsome reverse-sweep behind point as he sends the ball racing away to the ropes. Just three runs away now!
58.1 Mehidy Hasan Miraz to Azhar Ali, arm ball on a full length at the stumps, Azhar gets forward with an angled bat to work it towards mid-wicket.
