Mehdi Hasan Biography

Mehdi Hasan is a professional Indian cricketer, born on 3rd February 1990 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh.

He is aslow left-arm orthodox spin bowler who plays first class cricket for Hyderabad. Hasan is a very clever spinner with an ability to use the field and wind conditions to his advantage.

Debut

Hasan made his first class cricket debut for Hyderabad in November 2011 against Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy Plate League at Hyderabad.

Coming in at lower order of the batting line up, he scored 14 runs off 55 balls in the first innings. However, he had a decent economy with the bowl in two innings combined, giving away just 82 runs in 26 overs.

Mehdi made his T20 debut on 10 January 2016 against Tamil Nadu in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at Nagpur. He started with a brilliant performance, bowling four overs and picking up one wicket by giving away just 19 runs.

Rise to Glory

Hasan has established himself as a first class cricketer for Hyderabad, making some notable contributions to his domestic team.

For a bowler, Hasan’s addition to the batting total made a huge difference. His maiden half-century came against Goa on October 8, 2016, in Ranji Trophy 2016-17.

On 25th October 2017, Hasan was the key for Hyderabad’s comeback against Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy. The left arm spinner toppled four wickets for 55 runs. He used the breeze and the new ball’s shine to his advantage and bowled out Ravikumar Samarth.

A recent performance of Hasan on 14 January 2018 in the Zonal T20 League against Tamil Nadu was delightful. He bowled four overs and took three wickets. Unfortunately, Tamil Nadu won the match by 16 runs.

Club Career

He will be playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League after the team bought him for Rs. 20 lakhs during the 2018 IPL auction.
