With that, we come to the end of our coverage of the International League T20 today. Join us tomorrow at 7 in the evening for more of the same. This is Rajarshi, signing off on behalf of myself and Mohul. Good night!
James Vince, player of the match and captain of Gulf Giants: Very happy with the performance. Glad that we could get the win as well. Some of us have an idea of how the conditions are here. We thought 140-150 was a decent total. Hetmyer and Dawson finished well. This is a great country for our families to visit. We spend a lot of time away from them, so to get them around is nice. We did well as a bowling group.
Rovman Powell, captain of Dubai Capitals: I think we made the right decision to bowl first. The aim is to bowl well and restrict our opponents for as little as we can. Bowlers like CJ (Chris Jordan) are very handy on this surface, and they used him well. One bad game doesn't make you a bad team. We will take confidence from our previous games and go further in this competition.
Chris Jordan: Being the highest wicket-taker is a nice reward. What matters is that we have got three wins out of three. It is important for our batters to keep getting runs on the board and for the bowlers to do their job. Everyone's looking forward to training and working hard. It is a nice and healthy setup.
Match summary: Dubai Capitals won the toss and opted to bowl
Gulf Giants 1st innings 181/6 (20 Overs) James Vince 76(48) | Akif Raja 2/23 (4)
Dubai Capitals 2nd innings 80 all out (14.4 Overs) Dasun Shanaka 23(19) | David Wiese 3/3 (2)
Gulf Giants win by 101 runs
James Vince's knock of 76 turned out to be all the more crucial in the outcome of the game. The Gulf Giants captain, who has been instrumental in this tournament thus far, and especially in both the matches against the Capitals, read the wicket really well and played the situation accordingly. From the Dubai Capitals camp, though, there was no one to play a knock like that. Joe Root promised for a bit, though, but he was soon undone by a wrong-un from Rehan Ahmed.
Richard Gleeson had the ball on strings in his first over. The keeper, Ashwanth Valthapa Chidambaran had trouble gathering the ball due to the late swing, but he had no problems gathering the snick off Robin Uthappa's outside edge after the India veteran nicked off off the last ball of the over. David Wiese came into the attack soon after and accounted for Chirag Suri and Rovman Powell, the latter coming thanks to a tremendous return catch. The dot balls continued to pile up, Joe Root was looking for a partner to grind through the run-chase, until Rehan Ahmed did for him.
The power-packed middle order of the Gulf Giants merely wilted under scoreboard pressure. Out of them, Dasun Shanaka looked good for a bit but holed out soon after. Chris Jordan mopped up the tail without much fuss, and the Gulf Giants registered a monumental victory.
Ah well, that is an anti-climatic run-chase. The Gulf Giants have been bundled for 80, the lowest total in this year's International League T20.
15.0
14.3 Chris Jordan to Akif Raja, BOWLED HIM! THE GULF GIANTS WIN! Full and straight on off and middle yet again. Raja tries to work it away but his bat comes down a tad too late. He is beaten and sees his stumps being shattered! Jordan bags another wicket here! Another beautiful delivery from the Englishman.
14.2 Chris Jordan to Akif Raja, fullish outside off, Raja pats it back to the bowler.
