That leaves us with only two matches remaining in the group stage of ECS Portugal 2024. The penultimate one is coming up in about 20 minutes time. Catch it live here. This is Darpan Tikiya and Mohul Bhowmick signing off.
Friendship CC win by 6 wickets.
Imtiaz Rana 29 (20) | Abdul Motin 3/24 Ahmed Shafaat 35 (26) | Muhammad Tabish 2/7
Friendship CC had spotted the finish line about 5 overs ago. However, they kept on making the final lap difficult for themselves with every step. After being 60/0 in 4 overs, they went through a period of 3 overs where only 11 runs were scored and both the set batters were dismissed.
Muhammad Tabish, who had played a handy cameo of 15 runs with the bat, bowled an excellent spell to ignite hopes of a dramatic turn around. Though he never really got enough support. And that, in essence, was the story of the Lisbon Werewolves through the series.
Even today, for a large part, Shafaat looked like the only batter to put a fight and while Tabish did his thing, the others were completely awry. We saw a bazillion wides being sent down in the initial few overs.
For Friendship CC, this was a revenge for their defeat to the Werewolves earlier in the series. Badrul Haydar, in particular, will remember this match for long as he made a great all-round contribution.

8.5 Amritpal Singh to Md Nazrul Islam, BOWLED HIM! Full and straight on off and middle. Islam tries to drive it on the rise without really getting his head on top of the ball. The ball goes past his defences and shatters his stumps! Mohammad Al Amin b Amritpal Singh 0 (2b, 0x4, 0x6)
