Right, that brings to a close our live coverage of this game between Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz! The WPL action will continue though so don't forget to tune into Sportskeeda's live coverage every evening. For now, it will be Soumarya Dutta signing off on behalf of Arya Sekhar Chakraborty. See you soon!
Shabnam Shakil, Player of the Match- I am really happy that I have got the chance to perform at such a big level and play with such great players. I got to learn a lot from the U-19 level and learnt a lot of things. I have learnt a lot from Mithali maam too! I love bowling with the new ball and it was my plan to hit the top of off stump against Sherawat. The award means a lot for me and will be right up there amongst my very best.
Beth Mooney, Gujarat Giants Captain - We stuck to the situation and gave the fans something to watch out for. Great to win it in the end. When we had them at 5/30 we let them come into the game a bit. 152 wasn't really the best of the scores but Shabnam was outstanding. We thought about giving her a crack with the new ball and she brings a lot of energy to this attack. She has a bright future. Hopefully will be a good game against Delhi who have a strong side. Expecting a close contest.
22:52 IST and Local time- It's time for the Post Match Presentation.
Alyssa Healy (UP Warriorz Captain): She has meant so much. An outstanding knock tonight from Deepti. A disappointing night all around. I didn't really see so much, probably tried to take it on a bit too early. It didn't pay off today. We will have to discuss. We knew we had to win which was our foremost priority. The game today summed up the season for us. We haven't been consistent enough. There have been amazing players in the team. Lot of flair in the group and Poonam did well. Really inconsistent and we have let ourselves down, especially in the field. We will learn from it and try to come back stronger next season.
We have just witnessed one of the best games of the tournament here in the WPL and the Gujarat Giants have clinched an absolute humdinger of a contest by the barest of margins. Deepti Sharma fought and fought but despite her relentless pursuit she just fell short in the end. Spare of though for the UP Warriorz but their campaign has come to an end here. The powerplay proved to be their undoing today as they lost five wickets, leaving far too much work to do for the lower order.
The Gujarat Giants bowlers wrecked havoc in the powerplay as they got rid of four of the UP batters! It included Alyssa Healy, Grace Harris and Chamari Athapaththu, their three overseas stalwarts. It was the youngster Shabnam Shakil and Bryce who pegged them on the backfoot. Shakil picked up three as she bowled an extended spell. Bryce and Gardner picked up a wicket each.
The turnaround started for the Warriorz as Deepti Sharma and Poonam Khemnar got together and put on a magnificent partnership under pressure. Deepti was in her sublime best as she put up a valiant knock of 88 from just 60 balls. Khemnar took her time early on but joined the party towards the end as she played her part and scored a few boundaries. They did fall short in the end though as they had far too much work to do and it was the 18th over from Meghna Singh that had made things really difficult for them as they needed 40 runs from the final two overs.
The Gujarat Giants win by 8 runs!!

19.6 Meghna Singh to Poonam Khemnar, Poonam makes some room and tries to smash that length delivery over deep midwicket. Doesn't make any contact. Gujarat Giants have won by 8 runs.
Meghna Singh holds her nerve under pressure and Deepti Sharma won't be able to take her side over the line!
