Delhi beat Himachal Pradesh by 76 runs.
As soon as Pranshu Vijayran removed Rishi Dhawan for 65, things came apart for Himachal Pradesh as they were bowled out for 250, resulting in a superb 76-run win for Delhi. Himanshu Chauhan finished with a five-fer while Vijayran bagged 3/16 inside just ten overs. But the win was set up by Delhi's aggressive approach with the bat in the second innings. With their points tally now reading 16, they have managed to keep their slender hopes of progressing to the knockouts alive.
Tea on Day 4 - Himachal Pradesh 206/6, require 121 more runs to win.
This game is certainly on alright! A lone wicket lost in the second session as Mukul Negi was castled for 37 but Himachal Pradesh still have their talisman Rishi Dhawan battling it out currently as he's unbeaten on 54. With the target 121 runs away, will the hosts look to go for the jugular and pull off an incredible win over Delhi?
Lunch on Day 4 - Himachal Pradesh 142/5, require 185 more runs to win.
Himachal Pradesh began the fourth morning at a brisk scoring rate but have lost a few too many wickets to their liking. With half the side back in the hut, they are still 185 runs adrift of their target of 327 with Himanshu Chauhan being the pick of the lot for Delhi with four scalps. Mukul Negi (24*) and Rishi Dhawan (13*) are now tasked with pulling off the unthinkable.
Stumps on Day 3 - Himachal Pradesh 31/1, require 296 more runs to win.
Delhi decided to have a go at Himachal Pradesh's batters having declared their innings on 381/6. Quick runs continued to come post Tea even as Ayush Badoni was dismissed for 111 as Jonty Sidhu struck a 51-ball 46 and Kshitiz Sharma was unbeaten on 27 off 26 deliveries. Himanshu Chauhan then castled Prashant Chopra and Delhi are nine wickets away from an incredible win. All results are on the table though and we can expect a fascinating final day to unfold!
Tea on Day 3 - Delhi 308/4, lead Himachal Pradesh by 253 runs in the 2nd innings.
Bazball mode is well and truly on as far as Delhi are concerned. Ayush Badoni (107* off 104) has joined the party with a blistering century of his own even as Yash Dhull fell short of his ton by 18 runs. Himmat Singh cracked a run-a-ball 45 himself and Himachal Pradesh's bowlers have simply had no answers to this aggressive intent that Delhi have shown. How many more will the visitors score today?
Lunch on Day 3 - Delhi 147/2, lead Himachal Pradesh by 92 runs in the 2nd innings.
Rishi Dhawan fell for his overnight score of 95 as Himachal Pradesh were skittled out for 319 with Siddhant Sharma bagging five wickets for Delhi. Post that, it was time for the openers to Bazball as Anuj Rawat (54 off 32) and Yash Dhull (65* off 62) wiped out the deficit within the blink of an eye to power the visitors forward. With a lead of 92 and in-form skipper Himmat Singh still to come, this is as good a chance as any for Delhi to post a sizeable target before unleashing their bowlers.
Stumps on Day 2 - Himachal Pradesh 311/8, lead Delhi by 47 runs in the 1st innings.
'Why fear when I am here?' is what Rishi Dhawan must be telling his teammates with Himachal Pradesh taking a lead of 47 runs over Delhi. Shepherding the lower order, the veteran all-rounder launched an outstanding counter-punch to end the day unbeaten on 95 off as many deliveries, powering the hosts into the lead in the process. Delhi simply need their top-order to turn up a lot better on Day 3 after they bowl Himachal Pradesh out but next on Dhawan's agenda will be to stretch this lead into triple-digits.
Tea on Day 2 - Himachal Pradesh 199/6, trail Delhi by 65 runs in the 1st innings.
Oh how the tables turn in this sport! From a position of real dominance, Himachal Pradesh lost their way with the bat post Lunch as Siddhant Sharma and Himanshu Chauhan wreaked havoc with the ball. Five wickets fell at regular intervals as the wheels came off for the hosts once Praveen Thakur (85) and Ankit Kalsi (44) were dismissed. Rishi Dhawan is still batting on 28 - can he give his team some sort of a lead?
Lunch on Day 2 - Himachal Pradesh 137/1, trail Delhi by 127 runs in the 1st innings.
Hosts Himachal Pradesh waltzed along on the second morning, adding 113 runs to their overnight score of 24/1 without losing a wicket. Praveen Thakur (84*) was the dominator with the bat as he approaches a century with skipper Ankit Kalsi (35*) playing excellent second fiddle. Delhi, in the absence of Ishant Sharma and Navdeep Saini, lacked the required penetration this morning and have a big task on hand now to bounce back.
Stumps on Day 1 - Himachal Pradesh 24/1, trail Delhi by 240 runs in the 1st innings.
Some decent lower-order resistance by Siddhant Sharma (36) took Delhi's first innings total to 265 with Vinay Galetiya finishing with a five-wicket haul to his name. In response, Himachal Pradesh lost Prashant Chopra for a lone run but got through to Stumps without any further casualties. Skipper Ankit Kalsi (0*) and Praveen Thakur (13*) are the overnight batters and first on their agenda will be to take Himachal Pradesh into the lead on Day 2.
