Thanks a lot for staying tuned to Sportskeeda for this excellent game of cricket in Bengaluru between India Women and South Africa Women that the former won quite off the FINAL OVER. This is the duo of Mohul and Pragadeesh signing off; until next time, take care and see you!
Harmanpreet Kaur (Player of the Match and India captain): This is a big achievement for women's cricket. South Africa played really well today. The ball was moving well initially and our openers did not throw their wickets away. Later on, we made a few errors and did not bowl according to our plan, but luckily, things went our way. The batting camp helped us a lot - along with Smriti (Mandhana), Shafali (Verma) also contributed with the ball. I have always trusted Deepti (Sharma) and I was telling her that today as well. Credit to her as she always backs herself. I was batting well in the first game but got out. I told myself that I would not give up and not have any negative thoughts; I came in early and spent some time in the nets. I try to stay positive and fresh.
Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa Captain): I think four runs is a bit heartbreaking in the 300+ run chase but extremely proud of our performance. It was easy to go in the shell but I liked how we responded, especially, Kappie. We leaked too may runs at the death and it's very hard with the bowling options we had. India executed the yorkers better than us. We had the fastest start but the partnership brought us in the position where we were .It's a four run loss and if you look back and analayse it will be annoying. But it's a great batting performance from our group in a while. My feet are pretty sore and hopefully, I will have a good sleep if I try to switch off. Will see
Pooja Vastrakar: It was an excellent game, I think. All of us did well today and as a result, we were able to win the game. I have worked hard on my death bowling, and luckily, it paid off for me today. I have worked hard on the yorkers and it was nice to see it come off well. Arundhati bowled really well and I know that she will keep growing from here.
Amol Mazumdar (Indian Coach) - (Heartbeat) It's still beating quite faster. It's one of the moment you let go of your emotions. It's an exciting game to watch not from the dugout but for the fans. (On Pooja Vastrakar) Some amazing stuff she did in the last over. She went for runs but came back and bowled brilliantly in the last over. She has a heart of a gold. (Opting to go with Smriti Mandhana) She kept nagging me that please give me at least one over. Someone has to put the hand up in the top six to bowl an over and I am happy that she did. The only message was hold your nerves and try to mix up the pace. The message was deliveried to Pooja and she delivered for the team. (On Arundhati Reddy) She played her first ODI and credit to the hardwork she did in the bowling camp
In a game that saw four centuries, it was quite rightly a medium pacer who won it single-handedly for her team in the last over. Pooja Vastrakar bowled a fine last over to seal the deal for her team.
What immense relief it must have been for her to have done so for India and snick the game away from their opponents. South Africa had their best batter and skipper Laura Wolvaardt at the crease and it could quite easily have gone the other way, but Vastrakar kept her calm and held still.
India bowled well but they managed to leak quite a few runs towards the end, and this gave South Africa the confidence to take it right down to the wire.
Marizanne Kapp played an absolute blinder of a knock today and almost took SA over the line, as did Wolvaardt, but it seemed as if the fates had destined this win for India and written it in stone for them.
India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur will be delighted with this win, which makes it their second in a row after the thumping victory in the first WODI on Sunday.

Vastrakar does the trick for India! Wolvaardt is distraught at having missed out on hitting a six off the last delivery!
49.6 Pooja Vastrakar to Laura Wolvaardt, INDIA EDGE PAST THE NAIL-BITER! An outstanding final over from Pooja. Wolvaardt looks dejected. She fought hard like a warrior but couldn't help her team cross the finish line.Off-pace delivery on a good length outside off, Wolvaardt swings away from the body but doesn't get any contact at all. She was playing all around the ground but agonizingly for her, couldn't even get bat on ball in the final delivery
Six needed for SA to win this game, and they have their skipper and best batter on strike!
