Background
She started to play cricket at the age of 12 years with her brother in free time. Mentored by the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), the Hyderabadi all-rounder is constantly working on herself to get fitter. For her, building muscle and bowling faster have been challenging. She considers Nooshin Al Khadeer, the coach for the Indian Railways team, and Savita Nirala, head coach, HCA, to be instrumental in shaping her career.
As a right-arm seamer, she will have big shoes to fill, with Jhulan Goswami having announced her retirement from T20Is the same day Reddy was selected for the Women’s World T20 tournament.
Debut
She made her Women's Twenty20 International cricket (WT20I) debut for India against Sri Lanka Women on 19 September 2018.
Rise to Glory
Arundhati rose to the occasion in the 3rd T20, when she displayed an all-around performance. She first scalped two crucial wickets of Mendes and H Siriwardene before displaying her fielding prowess by taking a catch and inflicting a run out on MK Dilhari.
