Josh Inglis has been adjudged the Player of the Match! Here is what he has to say.
Josh Inglis: It was not easy for any new batter to come in and get going straightaway, so, our bowlers were really good in keeping the runs in check. I wanted to bat normally and for as long as possible, Aaron Hardie gave me the full freedom too to do so. We have played together for a long time and know our roles well enough, that works big time for us!
Perth Scorchers win by 13 runs!
Josh Inglis 64 (44) | Andrew Tye - 2/21 (4) Shaun Marsh 59 (36) | Tom Stewart Rogers - 3/18 (4)
What a magnificent defense it was by the home side when it looked very much out of reach for them! The Scorchers pull off yet another win at home and look a really formidable unit with the ball!
The Renegades went along pretty decently right through the innings but towards the end, lost track of the asking rate just a bit. That was enough for the Aaron Hardie-led team to exploit!
Shaun Marsh's return to the crease for the Renegades was excellent! He notched up an impressive half-century and threatened to take the game away form the hosts. But with only two other batters getting to double digits, it did not help the team in red in putting the pressure right back on the bowling every time it was the requirement.
Jake Fraser-McGurk's freakish dismissal at the non-striker's end, Joe Clarke's mistimed shots and Nic Maddinson's deserted form did not help the visiting team in the end. The likes of Will Sutherland and Jonathan Wells tried their best to pull off a brilliant victory but it was just too much of an ask against a strong and settled bowling attack.
The bowling changes on this hard surface was spot on and so were the tactics deployed. No bowler who bowled more than an over gave away runs at even 9.00 RPO. And, even with a couple of catches going down, the overall fielding from the Scorchers was pretty good.
So, with this win, Perth Scorchers pick up their third straight win but Melbourne Renegades lose their fourth consecutive match.

19.6 Andrew Tye to Adam Zampa, THE SCORCHERS PULL ANOTHER ONE OFF! Hard length ball on middle-and-leg. Zampa goes for the pull shot, top edges it to the left of the keeper and right of fine-leg. It lands safely alright but it does not matter as only a single is possible!
19.5 Andrew Tye to Adam Zampa, back of a length over off-stump. Zampa backed away to slash over third man off the back foot but failed to make contact! Dot ball.
19.4 Andrew Tye to Adam Zampa, hat-trick ball, hard length again over the middle-stump. Zampa swings at it across the line from the back foot but fails to make contact! No run.
19.3 Andrew Tye to Kane Richardson, CAUGHT AND BOWLED! Hard length ball on off-and-middle. Kane Richardson swings across the line on the back foot and slices it up in the air. Tye moves to his left, settles under it and reverse cups it to complete the catch!
19.2 Andrew Tye to Jonathan Wells, STRAIGHT DOWN THE THROAT OF DEEP BACKWARD SQUARE-LEG! Back of a length on leg-stump, tucking the batter up. Wells smacked it hard but flat to the fielder there. Cooper Connolly held his nerve and took the catch safely!
19.1 Andrew Tye to Jonathan Wells, over the wicket, good length ball on off-stump. Hoicked around on the up to the mid-on region for a single but the running is so good that they steal another one here!
