Malaysian women haven't gotten too many opportunities to play against higher ranked oppositions and when they were given the opportunity, the Sri Lankan women absolutely blew them away, registering a massive win by 144 runs.

The target of 185 as never going to be a feasible option for Malaysia but what they will take away is the fact that they almost batted their full quota of overs. Winifred Duraisingam was dismissed in the very first over or Kawya Kavindi.

The fifteen year old Shashini Gimhani was immaculate with her lengths. Left arm wrist spinners are rare commodity in the game or cricket and the Malaysian batters couldn't quite read her variations. Two more wickets feel in quick succession after Elsa Hunter struck a brilliant shot.

Hamizah Hashim and Mahirah Ismail tried to build a partnership but there was absolutely no power from the batters which never really kept them in the game. Sachini Priyadarshini also bowled, conceding just four runs from her four overs. They were eventually bowled out with a delivery to spare.
