Brisbane Heat win by 3 runs (DLS method)!
Josh Brown 43 (31) | Matthew Kuhnemann - 2/19 (4) Josh Philippe 41 (36) | Jack Edwards - 1/16 (3)
The lookout for runs from the Heat right from the start of the innings on a tricky wicket helped them get past the hurdle in the end, after two rain delays at Coffs Harbour!
After the first rain break, the Sixers were ahead by 2 runs. Immediately after that delay, a six, and then, three more fours, kind of sealed the deal for the Heat. Nathan McSweeney and Paul Walter held their nerves to take the team over the line.
Earlier, some quickfire runs at the top of the order from Josh Brown helped immensely! He hit 3 fours and 3 sixes, along the way.
The Sixers dropped two catches which were fairly simple. Those two cost them, dearly! The way the bowling shaped up was pretty impressive though. But, dew and the lack of runs in the first innings never helped the home side's cause.
So, the final call has been made. The match has ended with the Heat 3 runs ahead on DLS. The rain unfortunately, has had a big say on this!
More than handy runs these for the Heat! Oh no, the rain is back! Brisbane Heat are in front right now by 3 runs. The par score at the moment is 101. The covers are coming on in plenty here. The entire square is under them right now.
14.3 Sean Abbott to Paul Walter, FOUR! Slower back of a length delivery a tad outside off, Walter makes some room and slices it away over the extra cover fielder, in the gap and off to the fence and with that the rain has returned again and the players are walking off the field.
14.2 Sean Abbott to Paul Walter, again a low full toss, worked away towards the midwicket region for a single.
The 100 comes up for Brisbane Heat!
14.1 Sean Abbott to Paul Walter, FOUR! An unbelievable shot from Paul Walter. That was a low full toss around the middle stump, bit of a hockey flick, struck uppishly over the midwicket fielder and the deep fielder couldn't quite get around.
The Power Surge has been taken.
Sean Abbott [2.0-0-12-1] comes back into the attack.
This is an important over for both sides. If this one goes either way, that team is very much sure to win this contest. Will the Heat take the Power Surge now?
