Tamil Nadu beat Chandigarh by an innings and 293 runs, pocket seven points.

Back-to-back innings victories were all but a formality for Tamil Nadu. While Chandigarh turned in a better display with the bat in their second innings, they were always way behind the game. Skipper R Sai Kishore bagged a five-fer to finish with eight scalps for the game while fellow left-arm spinner S Ajith Ram picked up three wickets of his own. Ankit Kaushik was left stranded on 50 as the rest crumbled - the fact that Narayan Jagadeesan's 321 was four runs more than what Chandigarh collectively managed across the two innings tells you all you need to know about Tamil Nadu's dominance in this contest.

That was the order of the day for Tamil Nadu as they racked up nearly 400 runs with Narayan Jagadeesan (321) breaking the Tamil Nadu record for the highest individual score in first-class cricket. Pradosh Ranjan Paul (105) and Baba Indrajith (123) scored brisk centuries of their own to leave Chandigarh's bowlers tired and clueless. Tamil Nadu declared at the fall of Jagadeesan's wicket and while Chandigarh's openers have survived two overs before Stumps, all signs are pointing towards a massive win for the hosts in Coimbatore.
