Brady became the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers upon joining the franchise. Brady made his debut in the first game of the 2020 NFL season, against the New Orleans Saints.
He completed a total of 239 passing yards with 23 out of 36 pass completions. He scored a rushing touchdown along with making two touchdown passes. However, it was the Saints who emerged victorious in the match with a score of 34-23.

Tom Brady’s first season with the Buccaneers was the 2020 NFL season which was played behind closed doors for the most part due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After losing his debut match against the New Orleans Saints, Brady put in spectacular performances to win three consecutive games. In the Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Chargers, Brady became the oldest quarterback to have made 5 touchdown passes in a single game. The then 43 year old Brady also won the NFL Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
Brady started all of the 16 games of the season and helped the Buccaneers end a 13-year playoff drought. The Buccaneers contested in the Wild Card round that season after the Saints topped the Division. Playing a Wild Card round was a career first for Tom Brady.

The Buccaneers won a Super Bowl after almost two decades as Brady picked up a record seventh Super Bowl title in his career. In a fiercely contested Divisional round against the Los Angeles Rams, Brady helped the Buccaneers overcome a 27-3 deficit in the 3rd quarter to tie the game at 27 points. The Rams eventually won in overtime with a field goal.
