Matthew Farrelly is an Australian professional wrestler signed with WWE. He is notable for wrestling in WWE as Grayson Waller in the Smackdown Brand. He has also competed in the NXT.

Born in Sydney, Australia on March 21, 1990, Grayson Waller participated in the television series Australian Survivor. He has wrestled in the indy circuit as Matty Wahlberg before coming to the WWE. Waller's arrival at the WWE happened June 11, 2021 AT 205 Live and defeated Sunil Singh. He has been well-liked in the WWE due to his arrogant and cocky personality that keeps his fans entertained. Grayson Waller has become one of the most entertaining wrestlers to watch on the main roster since his arrival. He is known to offend his opponents through his attitude, which makes them eager to destroy him in the ring. He has the talent and potential to keep the wrestling fans entertained for a long time.

Independent Circuit (2017-2021)

Mattew Farelly first made his professional wrestling debut at Newcastle Pro Wrestling on April 15, 2017 as Matty Wahlberg. However, he was defated by SnapChad in that match. He also formed tag team at the promotion with Carter Dreams called BABES (Blond and Blue Eyed Squad), for which Hailey Wonderland was the manager. At Pro Wrestling Australia, he received a PWA Heavyweight Championship fight against Caveman Ugg at PWA Black Level: Wahlberg vs Ugg in March 2019. Unfortunately, he was beaten by Ugg.

Next he was defated by TJ Perkins at PWA Black Label: Break Their Back & Make Them Rumble. He won the Colossuem Tournament of 2019 at PWA: Colossuem by defeating Chris Basso, Orange Cassidy and Travis Banks in the finals. His last indie fight occurred at PWA Black Label: It Started Out With A Kiss. After the event, he informed his fans that he is leaving the indies and going to WWE.

WWE (2021-Present)

NXT

In 2021, he signed with WWE. He began working for 205 Live on June 11, 2021, where he was renamed, Grayson Waller. He beat Sunil Singh on his debut. Unfortunately, he was beatn by Roderick Strong in a NXT Cruiserweight Championship match on September 28, 2021. He also lost to Solo Sikoa and LA Knight in a triple-threat match on November 9, 2021. Soon after on November 23, 2021, he turned heel by trashtalking the fans. He became a member of Team 2.0 alonside Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes and Tony D'Angelo. He faced Team Black and Gold comprised of Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, LA Knight and Pete Dunne. The two teams clashed at NXT WarGames match where Team Black and Gold was beaten. He followed this up by mercilessly attacking Johnny Gargano during his farewell speech, thereby fully becoming a heel.

He also attacked Dexter Lumis on December 21, 2021 and came face to face with AJ Styles. The two ended up in a beawl at NXT: New Year's Evil on January 4, 2022. However, He was defated by Styles in the next episode of NXT. However, LA Knight attacked him after the match. He used Sanga as his teanmmate to interrupt in a match between LA Knight and Joe Gacy on February 1, 2022, thereby costing Knight the match. He finally beat LA Knight at NXT Roadblock on March 8, 2022. Grayson Waller lost the NXT North American Championship at NXT Stand and Deliver. He and Sanga also lost the gauntlet match for the NXT Tag Team Championships that were vacant to the Creed Brothers. This led to Waller attacking Sanga and beating him on April 19, 2022. He also lost to Nathan Frazer at Spring Breakin. Grayson Waller then challenged Carmelo Hayes for the NXT North American Championship. However, at NXT: The Great American Bash, he was beaten due to interruption by Trick Williams and Wes Lee. Nevetheless, Grayson Waller considered Wes Lee for his loss and beat him on July 26, 2022 again due to interruption by Trick Williams. He also feuded with Apollo Crews by defeating him and injuring his eye on August 30, 2022. However, Apollo Crews exacted his revenge and beat Waller at Halloween Havoc.

Next, Grayson Waller competed in the Iron Survivor Challenge and won it at NXT Deadline, thereby becoming the challenger for the NXT Championship held by Bron Breakker. They clashed at NXT: New Year's Evil on January 10, 2023. Unfortunately, the middle rope got damaged and Waller fell out of the ring, leading to Breakker retaining the title. They again clashed at Vengeance Day on February 4, 2023. Again, Grayson Waller did not succeed in becoming the Champion.

SmackDown (2023-Present)

Grayson Waller arrived at the SmackDown brand due to the 2023 WWE Draft. Upon his main roster debut on May 19, 2023, he launched The Grayson Waller Effect in SmackDown and chose AJ Styles as his first interviewee. He attacked John Cena at Money In the Bank but instead was hit back with an Attitude Adjustment. On July 7, 2023, He interviewed Edge as part of The Grayson Waller Effect and later lost to him. At Payback on September 2, 2023, he stated he had some big news on The Grayson Waller Effect. Unfortunately, Jey Uso returned as a RAW brand member and superkicked him. After the event, he started throwing tantrums about the incident on Twitter.
