About Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are one of the youngest NFL franchises which joined the league as an expansion team along with the Carolina Panthers in 1995. The Jaguars initially competed in the AFC Central Division before being reorganized into the AFC South division of the NFL. As a starter in the NFL the Jacksonville Jaguars enjoyed initial success by making it to the NFL Playoffs in four consecutive seasons (after their first season). They even won two Divisional titles within the first five seasons in the NFL. The Jaguars’ first ever draft pick Tony Boselli went on to become the greatest Jaguars player to date. Along with quarterback Mark Brunell and wide receiver Jimmy Smith, the Jaguars enjoyed their most successful seasons in the NFL. The primary colors of the Jaguars are teal, black and gold. The team was initially established by Wayne Weaver in 1993. Pakistani-American business tycoon Shahid Khan purchased the Jaguars in 2011. The Jacksonville Jaguars are currently worth around $3.48 billion. The Jaguars share the fiercest NFL rivalry with their AFC South contemporaries, the Tennessee Titans, Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts.

Jacksonville Jaguars Championships

The Jacksonville Jaguars are yet to hit great heights when it comes to being a proper Championship contender. The Jaguars are one of the four NFL teams who have never made it to a Super Bowl yet. However, the Jaguars were the youngest expansion franchise to appear in a Conference Championship (in 1996). The Jacksonville Jaguars have won 3 Divisional titles but have not stuggled to make it to many playoffs after the 1990s. The Jaguars have made it to only 8 Playoff appearances to date. The closest the Jaguars came to a Super Bowl appearance was in the 2017 NFL Playoffs when they lost to the New England Patriots 24-20. The latest playoff appearance for the Jacksonville Jaguars was in the 2022 NFL Playoffs.

The current Jacksonville Jaguars home stadium is the TIAA Bank Field located in Central Jacksonville, Florida. The stadium initially opened as the Jacksonville Municipal Stadium in 1995. The stadium is located along the scenic St. Johns river. Apart from being the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars it is also the regular venue for the annual Florida-Georgia college football game. The stadium has also been named the Alltel Stadium and EverBank Field before being renamed as the TIAA Bank Field in 2018

The Jaguars will reap a significant amount of financial benefit from the deal. The Jaguars can earn around 40% more revenue than they do when games are played at the TIAA Bank Stadium. The NFL is also benefiting from this venture as it helps spread the game across borders.
