The new regime in Jacksonville, consisting of general manager James Gladstone and head coach Liam Coen, will have to infuse the winning culture into the team, as the Jaguars have made the playoffs only once in the past seven seasons. They will also be tasked to get Trevor Lawrence, once deemed a generational prospect, out of his funk and reach his potential. After putting up career-high passing touchdowns and leading the Jaguars to a postseason victory in 2022, Lawrence has failed to reach the same production heights since then.

Liam Coen, who used to be an offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2024, helped Baker Mayfield put up career numbers in almost all QB statistics last year. Coen will need to bring that same magic to Jacksonville to revive Trevor’s career. Lawrence’s on-field performance will play a major factor in deciding the success meter of the new management, as the former Clemson product’s contract is set to keep him in Jacksonville until the end of the 2030 season.

Jaguars moved on from Christian Kirk and Evan Engram after a down year from both of them. Gladstone’s first-ever pick in the draft as a GM came via a blockbuster trade, which moved the Jags to 2nd overall from 5th overall. This trade paved the way for two-way phenom, Travis Hunter, to land in Jacksonville. Adding a vertical threat like Hunter to last year’s rookie phenom Brian Thomas Jr. gives the Jaguars an exciting 1-2 punch on the outside. Jags also had to readjust the interior of their offensive line, so they brought in a guard, Patrick Mekari, to replace Brandon Scherff, who was in the last year of his contract. They also added Robert Hainsey to fill in the center position after Mitch Morse’s retirement.

Gladstone reshuffled half the secondary after Jags sat dead last in pass defense last year (via ESPN). After signing cornerback Jourdan Lewis and safety Eric Murray in the offseason, the Jags still went hunting for a defensive back in the 2025 draft and picked Caleb Ransaw in the third round.
