New Orleans Saints Depth Chart

The New Orleans Saints, winners of Super Bowl XLIV, have yet to find their footing since Drew Brees and Sean Payton left a few seasons ago. The Derek Carr experiment that the franchise started back two years ago was not fruitful and came to an end in 2025, when Carr announced his retirement.

Kellen Moore, the first-time head coach, is entrusted to right the ship in New Orleans after his successful stint in Philly last season. He served as an offensive coordinator on the Eagles team that won the Super Bowl last year. While winning the division in 2025 might be a pipe dream, the Saints' main aim going into the season should be finding a true successor to Drew Brees from a couple of young signal callers the team has drafted in the past three years.

What is the New Orleans Saints' depth chart for 2025-26?

Tyler Shough, Spencer Rattler, and Jake Haener, all selected in the last three drafts, will be competing for the QB1 spot. Kellen Moore, who has seen how crucial the offensive line is in a quarterback’s success from his Philly days, had his fingerprints all over the New Orleans first-round pick in the 2025 draft. Saints drafted offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. in the first round to pair him opposite right tackle Taliese Fuaga, whom the franchise took in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft. Brandin Cooks and Juwan Johnson’s additions in free agency give two starters in the passing game.

On the defense, New Orleans brought back former second overall pick Chase Young after he was signed on 1-year prove-it deal by the Saints in 2024. The Saints' defensive backs room will see some new faces in safety Justin Reid and cornerback Issac Yiadom.
