The Buffalo Bills’ 2025 season will be defined by whether they can overcome the AFC Championship game hump. The arrival of Josh Allen and Sean McDermott revived Buffalo to prominence, and the team has not missed the playoffs since the 2019 season. However, in the last 5 seasons, Josh Allen and Co. have seen their playoff run end at the hands of Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs four times.

While Allen has the upper hand (4-1) against Kansas City in the regular season, the postseason has been Mahomes and the Chiefs' playground, as evident by their 4-0 record against Sean McDermott and boys, come January (via Stathead).

What is the Buffalo Bills' depth chart for 2025-26?

Bills GM Brandon Beane’s major work during the free agency period was handing out extensions to core players such as reigning NFL MVP Josh Allen, defensive end Greg Rousseau, linebacker Terrel Bernard, last year’s leading pass catcher on Buffalo, Khalil Shakir, and CB1 Christian Benford. Beane’s next move was to bring in 5-time Pro Bowler Joey Bosa to line him opposite Rousseau. Bills also signed Joshua Palmer in free agency to give Josh Allen one more weapon aside from Shakir and Keon Coleman.

After trading Kaiir Elam to the Cowboys, the Bills signed cornerbacks Dane Jakcon and Tre’Davious White. However, the Bills also took cornerback Maxwell Hairston in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft, and between these three, one will be a starter opposite Benford. Bills’ next three picks after 1st round all came on the defensive line, DTs T.J. Sanders and Deone Walker, and Edge Landon Jackson.
