The Miami Dolphins have been a fun team to watch on offense since Mike McDaniel became the team’s head coach in 2022. In his 3-year tenure in Florida, McDaniel has taken the Dolphins to the playoffs twice. However, Miami has failed to win a single game in either of those two postseason trips. Tua Tagovailoa’s injury in the 2024 season, along with subpar play from the backup QBs, was the reason Miami didn’t make it to the postseason for the third straight season.

In a division that is ruled by the Buffalo Bills (5 straight AFC East titles), Mike McDaniel's squad has been the second-best team in the division during that span. If the Dolphins were to have any hope of winning the division in 2025, it all comes down to the health of their starting quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, who has missed 16 games in five NFL seasons, per ESPN. Miami is 1-10 against the Bills in the 2020s.

Dolphins' full offseason was built on them beefing up the trenches. After adding offensive tackle Larry Borom to serve as backup to Austin Jackson in the wake of Terron Armstead's retirement, Miami also signed offensive guard James Daniels during free agency. Dolphins GM Chris Grier continued to double down at the line of scrimmage by selecting defensive tackle Kenneth Grant and offensive guard Jonah Savaiinaea with the team’s first two picks in the 2025 draft.

Miami also improved its QB room by bringing in former second-overall pick Zach Wilson to back up Tua Tagovailoa in case the injury bug once again hits the Dolphins' starting signal caller.
