Danielle Collins is an American tennis player who achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 7 in July 2022. She is ranked No. 11 as of December 2024. In doubles, her career-high ranking is No. 79, which she achieved in October 2023. Before turning professional in 2016, she played college tennis at the University of Virginia, where she won the NCAA singles title twice. She was awarded the Honda Sports Award for the best female tennis player. Further, as per her WTA bio, she has won four singles titles. She won her first doubles title at the 2023 Charleston Open.
Collins started the 2024 season by winning her third singles title at the Miami Open, defeating Grand Slam champion Elena Rybakina in the final. With her win at the Miami Open, she became the lowest-ranked champion and the third woman to win her maiden singles title in Miami after turning 30, following Petra Kvitova and Chris Event. Within two weeks, she lifted the trophy of the 2024 Charleston Open, becoming the second player after Serena Williams to win back-to-back Miami Open and Charleston Open.
