NXT Women’s North American Championship is a secondary title for the female wrestlers competing on WWE NXT. NXT is the developmental brand of WWE and many also consider it to be the third brand within WWE after RAW and SmackDown. The title was first announced on NXT Stand & Deliver. The inaugural champion is yet to be crowned. NXT Women’s North American Championship is the first time WWE has introduced a secondary women’s championship for any of its brands. Prior to this, only the premier women’s titles and tag titles have made their way to the WWE.

History of NXT Women’s North American Championship

The NXT North American Champion is the Men’s secondary title on WWE NXT. It was introduced in March 2018. With this, RAW, SmackDown, and NXT all had their own secondary championship for the male roster. However, neither of the brands boasted a secondary female championship for another six years to come. On April 6, 2024, at NXT: Stand and Deliver, NXT General Manager Ava announced a new title for NXT. She introduced the NXT Women’s North American Championship which will serve as the second title for the NXT female roster after the NXT Women’s Championship. This marks the first time WWE has introduced a secondary championship specifically for its female wrestlers.

Current NXT Women’s North American Champion

The current NXT Women’s North American Champion is Fallon Henley. She won the title at NXT Halloween Havoc after defeating Kelani Jordan, the inaugural champion. She is a member of Fatal Influence, the group that had been targeting NXT Women's North American Champion Kelani Jordan since September. At Halloween Havoc, Jordan had to defend her title against a member of Fatal Influence in a Gauntlet match, a stipulation chosen by the group. This decision came after Fatal Influence lost a tag team match and later used a "Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal" gimmick to determine the match stipulation. All three members of the group faced Jordan, and Henley eventually won the match.

Inaugural NXT Women's North American Championship Tournament

The first-ever NXT Women's North American Champion was crowned via a six-woman ladder match at NXT Battleground in UFC Apex on June 9, 2024. The six-woman to take part in the match were decided via knockout match between twelve competitors. These twelve competitors were selected based on NXT Women's Combine result, on the parameters of their speed, power, strength, agility and more. The ladder match was ultimately won by Kelani Jordan, who became the inaugural NXT Women's North American Championship.

NXT Women’s North American Championship Design

The NXT Women’s North American Championship closely resembles its male counterpart, featuring a smaller white leather strap for a snugger fit. The central plate mirrors the existing NXT North American Championship with a prominent globe motif. However, to distinguish it for the women's division, the globe features a shimmering, iridescent finish, catching the light with dynamic color shifts. This subtle yet impactful detail adds a touch of elegance and femininity to the championship. The side plates follow the established format, featuring a vertical NXT logo on a globe. However, these plates also incorporate the beloved design element: removable center sections. Just like the men's title, this allows future champions to personalize the plates with their own logos or designs, injecting their personal touch into the championship's overall aesthetic.
