Hideki Matsuyama is a professional Japanese golfer born on February 25, 1992. As of February 2025, he is ranked no. 6, having reached his career-high ranking of no. 2 in June 2017, according to the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR). Furthermore, he has also won 20 professional wins, including 13 on the PGA Tour, the most notable being the 2021 Masters Tournament, over Will Zalatoris by a single stroke. Between 2010 and 2012, Hideki Matsuyama won five amateur titles while he was a student at Tohoku Fukushi University and was the world No. 1 amateur. At the 2011 Mitsui Sumitomo Visa Taiheiyo Masters, he won a professional event on the Japan Golf Tour while still an amateur. He turned professional in 2013 and joined the PGA Tour in the 2014 season. He had his first PGA win in his rookie season at the Memorial Tournament, winning over Kevin Na in the playoffs.
