Russell Henley, an American pro golfer, born on April 12, 1989, competes on the PGA Tour as of February 2025. Henley won his first professional event as an amateur at the 2011 Stadion Classic at UGA on the Korn Ferry Tour, turning professional shortly afterward. He won two events in the following season on the Korn Ferry and eventually earned his PGA Tour card for the 2013 season. Later, he secured his first PGA win at the 2013 Sony Open in Hawaii, defeating Tim Clark by three strokes.

As of February 2025, Henley has seven professional wins, including four on the PGA Tour. Further, he is ranked No. 17 as per the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR), with his career-best ranking of No. 12 coming in July 2024.

Who are Russell Henley’s parents?

Russell Henley's parents are Sally and the late Dr. Chapin Henley. The couple has three more children: Matt, Adam, and Elizabeth, according to 13WMAZ.

Who was Russell Henley's father?

Dr. Chapin Henley was a gynecologist and obstetrician who delivered more than 5,000 babies throughout his career. Chapin completed his education at Vanderbilt University, Emory University's seminary, and the University of Florida Medical School. In 2003, after he retired, he established the Macon Volunteer Clinic to offer uninsured people free medical care. In July 2024, Dr. Henley passed away from leukemia and heart failure at the age of 85.

Talking about his father, Russell Henley said to Fox Sports in September 2024:

“He was battling the last couple of years, so I don't know if I've just gotten used to being sad about it. It's been a battle. He loved watching me play. He's been watching me play until he couldn't watch anymore because he was just too sick. But he was there.”

Russell created the Chapin Henley M.D. Scholarship Fund to honor his father's legacy. This scholarship supports post-secondary education for Idle Hour Country Club employees and their dependents. On the fund's website, Henley wrote, “This scholarship is a tribute to my dad, Chapin Henley, who has always been an inspiration to me. Against the odds, he worked hard and became a doctor. He really cared about his patients, often treating people who couldn’t pay him."
