Shakib Al Hasan (Player of the Match and winning captain): Yes after the last match we had a good chat among ourselves on how to improve ourselves. It us not only about winning and losing, it's about how you approach the game. We were hungry and played brilliantly today. Every game is important from here. If we win the last two games we will be in the top two for sure so it is important to keep winning games. No I mean, we tried all the players. Every player got a chance, i am very happy with the way we are moving around. We will be up for the challenge. Well, I am enjoying it, batting came good this season. Very happy the way I am contributing, still a long way to go though.

Shai Hope (Khulna Tigers Captain): (On chasing) I don't think it makes a big difference. Regardless, we could've played better. We gave too many easy-scoring opportunities. It's going to be difficult but we are going to play for pride as professionals from here on. (On his BPL) I enjoyed it, would've liked to get more wins but that's how sometimes it goes

The run chase never really took off as the Khulna Tigers kept losing wickets on regular intervals and had no way back in the game. Mohammad Wasim started Khulna’s downfall with the wicket of Tamim Iqbal which tailed in sharply and rattled the stumps. The only time when it looked that the Tigers were right in the game was during the partnership of Shai Hope and Andrew Balbirnie.

Hope took the attack to the opposition and played some delightful shots during his breezy knock of 37 off 24 deliveries. He looked in great touch and was supported well by Balbirnie. However, there was a cluster of wickets from the 6th over which again turned the game in favor of Fortune Barishal. Hasan Joy was castled by Shakib and Hope found the deep third man fielder as he swiped across the line and ended up getting an outside edge that flew straight down his throat.

The required rate kept climbing and despite a good partnership between Yasir Ali and Nahidul Islam, the target was never going to be achieved. Yasir gave them an outside chance with some good hitting and also reached his half-century in 35 deliveries. He was eventually dismissed on 60 off 38 deliveries and with that the hopes were diminished for Khulna.

Karim Janat bowled superbly and finished with four wickets to peg back Khulna. He mixed his lengths well and didn’t allow the opposition batters to get underneath. The Khulna Tigers batters tried their best, throwing their bats at everything but the bowlers were spot on and eventually eased to a victory. Yasir Ali was the top scorer with 60 off 38 deliveries.

Earlier in the day, Fortune Barishal posted a commendable 194 on the board in their allotted 20 overs. Riding on a brilliant half-century from Iftikhar Ahmed and impressive knocks from Shakib Al Hasan and Fazle Mahmud.
