Alex Hales (Player of the Match): It wasn't (easy) - once you faced about 20-25 balls it got a bit easier. We needed a partnership since it would have been difficult for the guys coming in. We wanted to take it deep. (On his COVID-induced isolation) It was my birthday as well at the time so I just tried to enjoy myself as much as I could and stay fresh and ready to go. It's my third year here at the Thunder and every year they make me feel so welcome out there. It's good to be back out playing and enjoying it.
IT IS DONE AND DUSTED!!! THE LAST 20 MINS HAVE BEEN BONKERS!! 80 OFF 56 for Alex Hales.
The game was much closer than it now appears, atleast up until the 15th over of this innings. It was right in the balance. At one point, with the spinners operating, The Thunder looked a tad behind the 8 ball to be honest. But then, Alex Hales just teed off. ALAS!!!
Questionable bowling changes there by the Hobart Hurricance, one could say. The spinners were looking real threatning when bowling in tandem. D' Arcy Short was unplayable for a bit there and they did not have him bowl his full quota, neither did Sandeep Lamichhane. A wicket there, with the RRR howering over 8.5 and things could have been different. Not to be as they say though. The Thunder strikes not once, not twice but for the 6th straight time!!!
The Hobart Hurricanes did play well in phases and would be taking quite a few positives out of this game. They are still well in the race for a playoff spot and would want to bounce back quick.
For now, we bid adieu. Its always a pleasure bringing the game to all you amazing folks. It is a double header at the Big Bash though, so stay tight with Sportskeeda.
Stay Safe, Enjoy the Cricket!!

17.2 Sandeep Lamichhane to Jason Sangha, FOUR! THERE YOU GO! Width on offer on a shortish length and Sangha rock back for a crisp square cut that threads the vacant gap in front of point before making its way to the fence. They've done it in a canter after looking slightly tentative on a two-paced deck - Sydney Thunder win by 9 wickets with 16 deliveries to spare!
17.1 Sandeep Lamichhane to Jason Sangha, quick and full outside off, Sangha leans forward for a push off his wrists in front of point.
Sandeep Lamichhane is back into the attack
ALEX HALESSS!!! Oh this surely is getting over soon!!Take the Power Surge for fun!! Alex Hales is just a beautiful batsman to watch when in flow. The Hurricanes seem to have missed a trick here not bowling out D Arcy Short and Sandeep Lamichhane. Strange tactics surely!

16.6 Riley Meredith to Alex Hales, bumper this time dug into the leg-stump, Hales ducks underneath it to let it pass through to the keeper.
16.5 Riley Meredith to Alex Hales, SIX! PUT A CAPE ON THIS ONE! This is vintage Hales - makes room outside leg and Meredith follows him with a length delivery that Hales swings high and handsome over wide mid-on to send it about 20 rows back into the stands. Just one hit away now the Thunder!
16.4 Riley Meredith to Alex Hales, FOUR! ARROGANCE! Sheer arrogance with the duck pull from Hales - dug short outside off as he walks across and takes his eyes off with a half-duck before lifting his front foot and helping it with a pull backward of square on the leg-side. A no look shot like none other!
