Hobart Hurricanes 2022 Squad - Players to Watchout
D’Arcy Short: The Australian hard-hitter has been an integral part of the Hurricanes line-up, putting up match-winning performances over and over again. Short is the leading run-scorer for them with 2553 runs that is an evidence of his contribution to the Hurricanes’ BBL journey. He will be crucial for the purple franchise this season as they’ll need him to score big runs and show his batting prowess.
Ben Mcdermott: This guy has been the backbone of the Hurricanes batting for the past two seasons, emerging as the top-run getter in the 2020 and 2021 BBL. He has shown his consistency time and time again which is something that every team needs in such a big tournament. Mcdermott will be the one who’ll have a big role to play with the bat for Hobart this edition.
Matthew Wade: The skipper of Hobart Hurricanes will be a key if the side has to do well in the 12th season of the BBL. Wade needs to lead from the front and deliver with the bat alongside the responsibility of captaining the team from Tasmania. Under his leadership, Hurricanes entered the finals last season but they would want him to take them right up to the finish line where they stand tall as champions.
Riley Meredith: Riley has been one of the most prolific bowlers for the Hurricanes and is always amongst the wickets. He is the leading wicket-taker with 59 scalps for the team and holds the caliber to turn a game around when in need. Meredith is a major factor that can help Hobart win it this time.
