Commentary

Right then, that's all we've got from this game as Lavil and myself (Rishab) sign out. Get yourself a breather from this thrilling contest because we have more action coming your way with Peshawar Zalmi taking on Multan Sultans and you simply do not want to miss it!

Islamabad United were cruising at one point with Munro and Shadab in the middle. It certainly looked like they were going to get over the line comfortably but this is T20 cricket at its best isn't it? It's not over until it actually is and this has been a commendable effort from Lahore Qalandars to comeback and steal the game from Islamabad United's grasp and how! 39 off the last five with eight wickets in hand, this was certainly Islamabad's game to win and they are going to rue this loss big time.

One opening was what Lahore needed and Rashid gave them that with the wicket of Shadab, followed by the wicket of Munro from Rauf that really turned the game on its head. Azam Khan and Asif Ali are good finishers indeed but it wasn't meant to be their day today. Great captaincy from Shaheen that cannot go unnoticed here. He's done extremely well not only with the ball but to also keep the nerves of his teammates calm in tense situations, that eventually helped them win a cracker of a contest.

Qalandars have a strong bowling line-up and they've shown exactly why once again. Zaman Khan the youngster was commendable in the final over under pressure as well.

As a result of this thrilling win, Lahore Qalandars now jump up to the second spot on the table while Islamabad United drop down to the third spot. Some high quality cricket and action from the PSL as you'd expect!

Shaheen Shah Afridi, Lahore Qalandars captain: We bowled well. I told Zaman to go out there and enjoy his cricket and very happy that he did well. He bowls well in the nets and is always hungry to prove himself. We started well in the powerplay but then lost our way in the middle. I said it at the toss that at total of 170-80 would have been good for our bowling attack to defend

Shadab Khan, Islamabad United captain: We did well in the middle but left a lot for the middle and the tail. I and Munro should have finished the match. Ideally, we should have chased down this total, they have a good bowling attack and we needed to respect them. We made little mistakes in the middle and will be looking to correct them in the coming matches.

Zaman Khan, player of the match: Shaheen in the last over told me to enjoy the last over and that's how it happened so it was good that all went according to plan. Shaheen told me to bowl change up and we did well to get over the line

What a turnaround! What composure from Lahore and Shaheen! Brilliant effort to defend this score under pressure and Islamabad United have lost a game that was theirs to win. Fine margins and we have had a thriller of a game here as this went all the way down the wire!
