Strong wind is coming in from the northeast side of the ground. As a battle, be cognizant and take note of the wind blowing. It looks a little dry and there might be some assistance for the slower bowlers

That's that from the last game of Group D. We know the teams that are going to be there in the Super 8 stages of the tournament and there will be palpable excitement, come the 19th of June. Keep tracking Sportskeeda for the latest news in the world of sports and all the live match coverages. This is Lavil Saldanha alongside Karthik Raj signing off. We hope you enjoyed our coverage and look forward to seeing you sometime soon. Till then, SEE YA!
Wanindu Hasaranga (captain, Sri Lanka): After losing the first two games, it is a good win for us. Last night the wicket was really good, we wanted to put on a 160-170 score and we know that with our bowling attack, we can defend a 160+ score. The first six overs, we lost 2-3 wickets in the last couple of games. (On Asalanka) He is a very good talent and he proved today what he can do, Dhananjaya de Silva and Kusal Mendis also played important knocks in the middle
Scott Edwards (captain, Netherlands): Obviously the wicket has been better than what we have been playing on. We missed throughout the middle over and gave them balls to hit to the shorter boundary, credit to them for the win. The shorter side and wind going that way played a part and we were a bit slow to react to that. We gave them wide and straighter balls to hit. We had practised well, gave ourselves a chance to win in all three games and in those moments either batting, bowling or fielding, we let ourselves down. You're out here to win the game, they have some good death bowlers. We needed someone to play a big knock in the middle. We sit down and reflect on what areas we need to work on
Charith Asalanka (Player of the Match): Far better pitch than the ones we had in the USA. Ball was coming onto the bat and the boys enjoyed the conditions. No.5 is a tough position to come in as the scenarios are different. I need to improve and be more consistent in my career. Little disappointed about the results but enjoyed tonight.
Charith Asalanka has been named as the 'Player of the Match'
Sri Lanka beat the Netherlands by 83 runs
Netherlands: 118 all-out in 16.4 overs Michael Levitt: 31(23b) | Scott Edwards: 31(24b) Nuwan Thushara: 3/24 (3.4 overs) | Matheesha Pathirana: 2/12 (3 overs)
Demolition job from Sri Lanka in this target defence. One might wonder where was this version of theirs all along, but it comes with the confidence that you have enough runs on board. Hard luck to the Netherlands, who showed promise all along but couldn't quite translate it to the desired results.
The Netherlands were off and running with Michael Levitt and Max ODowd started off with a bang. Levitt, in particular, took a liking to Theekshana, Angelo Mathews and Thushara. Max ODowd lost his wicket cheaply and Vikramjit succumbed to his expectations of blasting off early. Levitt looked to up the ante and lost his wicket to Theekshana.
From then on, with two new batters, the Netherlands never looked settled out in the middle and lost their way. The wickets kept falling from one end with Scott Edwards watching it happen. In the end, it was all a little too much as the Netherlands were always playing catchup and lost by a huge margin.
Sri Lankan bowling unit fired up and delivered the goods. Nuwan Thushara was a pick of the lot, ending with three wickets next to his name. All bowlers, barring Mathews, picked up a wicket each and bowled really well against the Dutch batting line up.
16.4 Nuwan Thushara to Paul van Meekeren, WICKET! Full on the stumps, van Meekeren moves across and attempts the scoop but he misses it. LBW appeal and the umpire lifts his finger. However, van Meekeren has opted to review the decision. No bat involved and three reds. So, that is the end of the game. Sri Lanka seal a massive 83-run margin to finish their campaign!
Paul van Meekeren lbw b Nuwan Thushara 3(8b,0x4,0x6)
16.3 Nuwan Thushara to Vivian Kingma, full on off, Kingma pushes it to cover for a single.
Vivian Kingma, RHB, walks out to the middle and will be on strike
16.2 Nuwan Thushara to Scott Edwards, WICKET! Short and slow outside-off, Edwards goes for the pull shot but mis-times it to mid-wicket where Theekshana takes a simple catch.
