Both teams came into the match desperate to get a win on the board. Hence, it is a result that makes neither of them happy. The middle of the points table continues to have a bit of a traffic jam. But hey! It was an enthralling game of cricket, wasn't it? We hope you enjoyed the coverage. It is time for Darpan Tikiya and Rudransh Khurana to sign off! But you don't go too far. Match 35 is coming up in a bit. Click here to be redirected to the live feed for that one.
Ellyse Perry [Player of the Match]: What game of cricket. Very good game between two good sides. Draws are never make you happy but proud of the way we play. At the 10 over mark (in the bowling innings) we had a chat about pulling our socks up and we did well, didn't we? (On the Super Over) Six balls, it comes down to execution. I think both teams did that equally well today. A great game of cricket and we are all stoked to be a part of it.
WHAT.A.FINISH. WHAT.A.GAME.
End of the match! NOTHING SEPARATES THE TWO TEAMS AND IT ENDS ALL SQUARE! The teams will share points.
Beth Mooney 44 (37) | Alana King (3/21) Ellyse Perry 67 (53) | Ashleigh Gardner (4/21)
One of the most closely contested matches ever in WBBL history, fitting for the weight of the contest. Both teams showed similar strengths and weaknesses, with almost identical fielding errors, and in the end, a tie after the 20 overs was the perfect result was the perfect result.
The two teams needed a super-over to decide things. Perry almost played the perfect hand, helping her team put up 15 runs. But then Hinkley emerged as the unlikely hero, smashing a hat-trick of boundaries against Gardner to match 15 and end the game tied.
This innings started with a slow, 20-run powerplay from the Sixers. The Elsa Hunter experiment didn't work as she couldn't get the required run-flow going in the first four overs and took a lot of pressure upon herself, leading King to snap her up. Ainsworth was brought back and took out Kerr, making it very quick two wickets.
Perry, who was fighting a lone war from one end, found a partner in Gardner and they put on 32 runs. They looked like they'd go all the way until Mooney's brilliant catch in the 12th over put a big full-stop and brought the Scorchers back. Runs dried up as batters struggled against a slowing old ball.
But the two overs of Surge brought 19 runs, making it even ahead of the last four. King came to bowl the 18th and Perry reached 67 with a boundary on her first ball. The spinner struck back with two wickets in two balls. With 12 needed off six, the batters ran five doubles but couldn't make a sixth and ended up only tying the match.

0.6 Ashleigh Gardner to Mikayla Hinkley, FOUR!! IT IS A TIE!! Full, at the stumps. Hinkley tonks it straight over the top of the umpire's head and splits the gap between long-on and long-off.
5 needed in 1 ball!
0.5 Ashleigh Gardner to Mikayla Hinkley, FOUR MORE!!! Hinkley stood on the tram line outside leg and skipped to stand at the stumps as soon as the ball was released. It was full and was caressed through the gap between mid-off and extra cover.
9 off 2 needed! Perry and Gardner meet to discuss.
0.4 Ashleigh Gardner to Mikayla Hinkley, FOUR! They are still in it!! Garnder ends up bowling a full toss outside off and Hinkley dinks it away in the gap between short third and backward point.
0.3 Ashleigh Gardner to Mikayla Hinkley, around the wicket. The batter stood outside leg and hence, Garnder hurled it full outside off. Hinkley reaches for it and ends up squirting it away towards deep point.
