Tamil Nadu beat Railways by an innings and 129 runs, pocket seven points.

Indeed, Tamil Nadu wrap things up within three days with Railways bowled out for 114 having been asked to follow on in their second innings. R Sai Kishore did the star turn with the ball having returned 4/43 while fellow left-arm spinner S Ajith Ram ended with 4/40. The injured Shivam Chaudhary didn't come out to bat for Railways and this result marks Tamil Nadu's first win of the season. It couldn't have come at a better time either having mustered a solitary point from their first two games.

Tea on Day 3 - Railways 45/2 (f/o), trail Tamil Nadu by 198 runs in the 2nd innings.

Tamil Nadu didn't take much time to clean up the tail as Railways were bowled out for 246 in the first innings. Unsurprisingly, the follow-on was enforced as Sandeep Warrier and R Sai Kishore bagged a wicket apiece to leave the visitors in trouble again. Pratham Singh (14*) and Mohammad Saif (18*) have steadied the ship for now but they have to dig in deeper and longer. Can Tamil Nadu wrap up a win today though?

Lunch on Day 3 - Railways 237/8, trail Tamil Nadu by 252 runs in the 1st innings.

It was Sandeep Warrier who picked up from where he left off on the second evening, breaking a third wicket partnership of 117 as Pratham Singh was dismissed for 92. A series of unconverted starts proved to be the story of the morning thereafter as Tamil Nadu kept chipping away, leaving Railways in real trouble at 237/8. There is every chance that the hosts could enforce the follow-on should they nab the last two wickets quickly enough.

Stumps on Day 2 - Railways 126/2, trail Tamil Nadu by 363 runs in the 1st innings.

Railways finally managed to bowl Tamil Nadu out in Coimbatore, but not before the hosts mounted a massive 489. Narayan Jagadeesan carried his bat and stayed unbeaten on 245, scoring marginally over 50 per cent of his team's total. Thereafter, Sandeep Warrier struck twice to leave Railways reeling at 35/2 before Pratham Singh (79*) and Nishant Kushwaha (22*) rescued the visitors with an unbeaten 91-run partnership. Can Tamil Nadu's bowlers breach their defense early tomorrow and pocket a big first innings lead?

S Mohamed Ali departed early but Tamil Nadu continued to boss proceedings on the second morning. Narayan Jagadeesan notched up a double hundred and remains unbeaten on 208 with a partnership of 84 for the seventh wicket with R Sai Kishore (59) extending the hosts' dominance. With the total well past 400, the next target for Tamil Nadu will be to breach the 450-run mark.

A dominating day's play for Tamil Nadu and they end the opening day on 286/5. Narayan Jagadeesan continues to boss the contest as he remains unbeaten on 155 even as Boopathi Vaishna Kumar was dismissed for 67 in the final session. S Mohammed Ali is currently batting on 1 and Tamil Nadu will have their eyes set on a total of 400 on the second morning.

Narayan Jagadeesan (120*) continued to make merry in the second session, racing along to a sensational hundred to put Tamil Nadu on top in Coimbatore. The local lad was ably supported by Boopathi Vaishna Kumar (42*) with the fifth-wicket partnership currently unbeaten on 92, even as Baba Indrajith and Vijay Shankar failed to leave a mark. Can Railways bounce back and make further inroads post Tea?

Jagadeesan (67*) is currently batting alongside the experienced Baba Indrajith (14*) and the hosts will bank on a big partnership between the duo to set the game up.
