Pratham Singh is an Indian cricketer born on August 31, 1992, in the capital city of Delhi. He is primarily an engineer but turned into an opening batter in pursuit of his passion. The 32-year-old has a good domestic record in his kitty. He is a left-handed batter and bowls occasional right-arm off-break.

Singh represents the Railways in the domestic circuit. Warming the benches of the now-defunct Gujarat Lions squad and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) squad, he has yet to feature in an IPL match.

Pratham Singh started on an auspicious note across formats. He has a sound domestic record with the bat and has ripened with age. He has been a regular representative of the Railways cricket team in the domestic.

Pratham Singh Domestic Career

Soon after signing an IPL contract with the now-defunct Gujarat Lions, Pratham Singh made his domestic debut for Railways against Haryana in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2016-17 season in Delhi on February 26, 2017. Coming in at No. 3, Singh scored his first half-century on his List-A debut before being dismissed by Rahul Tewatia.

In the Ranji Trophy 2017-17 season, the 32-year-old opener made his first-class (FC) debut for Railways against Maharashtra in Pune on November 9, 2017. Similar to his List-A debut, he scored a constructive innings of 73 runs in the first innings. A couple of years after his domestic debut, Singh made his T20 debut for Railways against Saurashtra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2018-19 season in Indore on February 21, 2019. In a game where India’s Test veteran Cheteshwar Pujara surprised everyone with his maiden T20 century, Singh scored 40 off 30 balls before being run out by the centurion. Railways won a thriller in the final over to win the match by 5 wickets.

Singh took his maiden domestic wicket against Goa in the Ranji Trophy 2023-24. He dismissed Manthan Khutkar caught and bowled. In the very next match against Tripura, the opener registered his highest score in FC cricket. In the fourth innings, he scored an unbeaten 169 runs to chase down a mammoth 378 runs, thus showing his versatility to bat in crunch situations.

In the recently concluded Duleep Trophy 2024, Singh represented India A. In his very first outing, the 32–year-old managed to score a century against India D. He stitched a 104-run stand with fellow centurion Tilak Varma.

Pratham Singh IPL Career

Pratham Singh first caught the eyes of the now-defunct Gujarat Lions in the IPL 2017 auction. He was sold for INR 10 lakhs. Five years later, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) roped the opener for INR 20 lakhs. Despite having the privilege to rub his shoulders with some T20 superstars, Singh has yet to make his IPL debut.
