Jalen Reagor: A Brief Biography
Jalen Armand Reagor is a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) who currently plays for the New England Patriots. One of the younger receivers in the league at just 24 years old, Reagor is still looking to settle down at this level. Now into his fourth season in the league, Reagor has been assigned punt return duties since his rookie year along with his receiver role.
Unfortunately for Reagor though, since he hasn’t had the necessary output expected from a first-round draftee, he now sees himself on the practice squad of the Patriots team looking for an opportunity to present itself. Having had a fairly decent three-year stint in college football it is baffling to see him keep struggling even after having played three seasons in the NFL.
While Reagor doesn’t possess the most natural speed, he did run a 4.47-second 40-yard dash during his combine, but it is his route running and lack of footwork to get separation that seems to be hindering his progress. In addition to that, his catch radius is also not the best and as a result, his woes have continued at the highest level of the game.

Jalen Reagor Early Life
Reagor was born on January 2, 1999, in Waxahachie, Texas. Going to Waxahachie High School, Reagor was involved in both football and track for the school team. He performed quite well in both sports. In football, he had consecutive 1,000 plus receiving yard seasons while he brought home a gold medal in the long jump event of track and field.
Afterwards, he enrolled in Texas Christian University (TCU) located in Fort Worth, Texas. He had a decent rookie year for the Horned Frogs football team catching 33 passes for 576 yards which included 8 touchdowns. His overall effort on the offensive side of the ball saw him being named the Co-Offensive Freshman of the Year in the Big 12 conference.
Moving on to his sophomore year, he did much better as he caught 72 passes for over 1,000 yards including 9 receiving touchdowns. He was the number one receiver on the team that year. His junior year of college again saw a dip in productivity but after the year was over he declared for the 2020 NFL Draft.
Jalen Reagor Personal Life

Jalen Reagor Mother
There is also little to no information about his mother except for the fact that she is a huge supporter of her son and has his back at all times.
In an incident on Twitter, back in 2020, when famous sports commentator and television personality Skip Bayless posted a tweet along the lines of not believing the Eagles selected Reagor ahead of so many better options, Reagor’s mother snapped back at him defending her son as to how he hadn’t even played a single down in the NFL yet and still there are haters out there.
Jalen Reagor Father
As for Jalen’s father, he has been a professional NFL player as a defensive tackle who played nine seasons in the league with three different teams. Montae Reagor started his career with the Denver Broncos in 1999 and remained with the team till 2002. He then joined the Indianapolis Colts from 2003 to 2006 and was a member of the Super Bowl XLI-winning Colts team even though he hadn’t played for most of the season due to an automobile injury in October of the same season. He then joined the Philadelphia Eagles for one year before his playing career came to an end.
He shares a very close bond with his son, and he mentioned that growing up his son always emulated what he did and tried to follow in his father’s footsteps all along. Reagor was always asking his father questions about how he could become tall like his dad, how he could have big hands like his dad, and so on.

Jalen Reagor Draft
The Texas native came through TCU and entered the 2020 NFL draft. He was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the first round with the 21st overall pick. Unfortunately though, in his three-year career in the NFL, Reagor has not been able to justify his first-round draft selection. Some other wide receivers from this draft class who have done better than him as of now are CeeDee Lamb, the 2022 NFL Offensive Player of the Year winner - Justin Jefferson, Tee Higgins, Brandon Aiyuk, and Michael Pittman Jr.
Other notable players from this draft include number one overall, Joe Burrow, and quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Herbert, and Jalen Hurts. On the defensive side of things, we have seen amazing talents develop such as number two overall Chase Young, cornerback Trevon Diggs, and safety Antoine Winfield Jr.
Jalen Reagor NFL Journey
Reagor is still relatively new in his NFL journey having played only three seasons. The 2023-24 NFL season is his fourth one in the league but as of now, he is finding it difficult to get game time.
Jalen Reagor Teams
Philadelphia Eagles (2020-2021)
The former TCU wide receiver was selected in the first round by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020. In his rookie season, he caught 31 passes for 396 receiving yards and 1 receiving touchdown. He also had 4 punt returns of which he returned one for a touchdown. He didn’t have an exciting season by any means but being his rookie year, progress would be expected in the next season.
Unfortunately, though, his receiving stats went downhill instead of gaining momentum and even though he was used more for punt returns, he made a few crucial mistakes in big moments of games.
Minnesota Vikings (2022)
In 2022, Reagor was traded to the Vikings but once again his numbers didn’t fare well. In fact, he got limited game time and didn’t start any of the games. After just the lone season in Minnesota, he was released from the team on August 30, 2023.
New England Patriots (2023-present)
Since Reagor was released by the Vikings, he was a free agent and the Patriots decided to sign him up to their practice squad for the 2023 season. He is finding it difficult to get on the active squad so far but it is a work in progress. It remains to be seen whether he can quickly sort out his career and become the standout player he was hoping to be.
Jalen Reagor Net Worth
There are varying details about his net worth ranging from $1 million to $4 million, but taking into consideration that he has earned close to $13 million from his rookie deal, his net worth should be around $3 million. At the moment it is difficult to measure the exact net worth of Reagor as he has only been in the league for three seasons.
Jalen Reagor Brand Ambassador
There are no known brand endorsement deals regarding Reagor at the moment. Since Reagor has not exactly lit up the NFL as one would have expected, his on-field performances could be a major reason why brands have not approached him yet.
Jalen Reagor Investments
There are no details about his investments as of now.
Jalen Reagor Achievements
In a very short career, there are no achievements to take note of for Reagor. Furthermore, as he is struggling to find proper game time, setting or breaking any records looks to be a fair shot away for Reagor at the moment. Having said that, he did win the Co-Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year Award in his sophomore year at TCU and is a two-time second-team All-Big 12 in 2018 and 2019.
