As the 2024–25 NFL season gets underway in September, Monday Night Football (MNF) will once again give football fans an extended weekend to tune in to a game each week. The prime time slot on Monday night football will feature yet another season's worth of exciting football matchups available for viewers.

Over the years, who plays Monday night football tonight has been a popular search for fans across the United States and other parts of the World. And while the NFL makes the entire regular schedule available for all, ESPN is responsible for putting out the complete list of the Monday Night Football Schedule of the 18-week regular season.

No doubt this year will again have several key matchups on Monday Night Football Games, but it all starts with the New York Jets visiting the San Francisco 49ers in week 1. This should be a fun watch as the veteran Aaron Rodgers will go up against the third-year starter Brock Purdy. Week 11 features two Texas-based teams as the Houston Texans make the short trip to AT&T Stadium to take on the Dallas Cowboys. Another interesting match will be the week 17 game as the Detroit Lions go up against the 49ers. And of course, the Harbaugh Bowl will be back for the third time as the John Harbaugh-coached Baltimore Ravens play against the Jim Harbaugh-coached Los Angeles Chargers in a Week 12 game.

Monday Night Football TV Channel

The primary Monday Night Football Schedule Channel rights are with ESPN/ABC, which has been broadcasting these games since 2006. Some MNF games are simulcast on ABC even though most of the games remain solely with ESPN.

The MNF commentator team for the 2024 NFL season is once again the former Cowboys Legend Troy Aikman, accompanied by Joe Buck. This will be their second season together after being paired for the first time for the 2023 NFL season. Reporting duty on the sidelines will be handled by Lisa Salters.

Monday Night Football Kickoff Time

Typically, the Monday Night Football Kickoff time for most of the games is 8:15 p.m.ET(Eastern Time). There are a few games here and there whose time will be different, but for the most part, 8:15 p.m. ET will be the time to follow.

Fans who want to get even more action can tune in to the pregame show called Monday Night Countdown which begins at 6:00 p.m. ET (Eastern Time).

The MNF pregame crew consists of Adam Schefter, Marcus Spears, Ryan Clark, and Michelle Beisner-Buck. Hosting duties are given to Scott Van Pelt. This year, recently retired former Philadelphia Eagles center, Jason Kelce will be adding to the fun and banter as he is set to join the Monday Night Football team for the 2024 season.

Who Plays Monday Night Football Tonight?

Two teams with contrasting fortunes will go head-to-head to close out the Week 8 NFL schedule when the New YorkGiantstake on the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Late in Week 7, the Giants benched Daniel Jones for Drew Lock but made it a point to announce that Jones will still be their starter going forward. Meanwhile, the Steelers’QBchange went much better after Russell Wilson vanquished the New York Jets to take their record to 5-2.

There’s a lot of optimism around this Steelers unit but not so much around the Giants, who have failed to kick on after 2023.

The Giants vs Steelers game will kick off live at 8:15 pm (Eastern) from Acrisure Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN.
