Early Life
Darby Allin's real name is Samuel Ratsch. He was born in Seattle, Washington, USA on January 7, 1993. Allin initially took part in track and field and played football as his grandfather was a former NFL player. He then participated in amateur wrestling, mistaking it for professional wrestling. He joined a film school and dropped it later to pursue a career in skateboarding. He then appeared in multiple video clips through his friendships with Matt Schlager. He was intentionally homeless for three years.
Professional Wrestling Career
Independent Wrestling Circuits (2014 - 2019)
Ratsch had his professional wrestling debut at Blue Collar Wrestling in Portland, Oregon in 2014 under the ring name Darby Graves. He then changed his name to Darby Allin and wrestled for multiple wrestling promotions including Evolve Wrestling, The Wrestling REVOLVER, Full Impact Pro, Pro Wrestling Guerilla and Game Changer Wrestling.
World Wrestling Network (2016 - 2019)
Darby Allin made his debut at the World Wrestling Network in April 2016 at an episode of Evolve, where Allin lost his debut match against Brian Cage via countout. He then debuted on Style Battle in 2017 and was defeated by Dave Crist. He then appeared on Full Impact Pro at FIP Everything Burns event where participated in the Fight for All match but was unsuccessful. The same day he joined hands with A.R. Fox, Dave Crist and Sami Callihan against Sammy Guevara, Dezmond Xavuer, Jason Kincaid and Jason Cade and won. In January 2018, Allin challenged Zack Sabre Jr. for the Evolve Championship but was unsuccessful. Allin then had matches against NXT superstars including Velveteen Dream, Mustafa Ali, Kassius Ohno, Austin Theory and Roderick Strong. At WrestleMania weekend,
Allin had his last match at Evolve, where he teamed with his wife Priscilla Kelly to defeat Austin Theory and Brandi Lauren in a mixed tag team match. He then announced that he is ending his three years relationship with the company.
Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (2018)
In June 2018, Allin appeared on Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide at Verano de Escandalo event, where he was inserted in a six way match featuring Drago, Sammy Guevara, Aero Star, Australian Suicide and Golden Magic, where the match was won by Aero Star.
Progress Wrestling (2018 - 2019)
In 2018, Progress Wrestling was on an American tour, where Allin made his debut at the promotion in Louisiana. He had his first match for the promotion in a Thunderbastard match, which was won by Jeff Cobb. He appeared on the Coast to Coast Tour, where he was teamed with Jack Sexsmith and Toni Storm in a six-person mixed tag team match. In 2019, Allin participated in the Super Strong Style 16, where he lost against Paul Robinson. The following night he teamed with Chris Ridgeway and Lucky Kid and defeated Artemis Spencer, Chris Brookes and DJZ. On day three, he wrestled in a scramble match but was unsuccessful.
All Elite Wrestling (2019 - Present)
Early Days in AEW
Darby Allin signed a contract with the newly launched wrestling promotion in 2019 and made his AEW debut at the Fyter Fest event. He fought his debut match at AEW against Cody Rhodes in a one on one match, which resulted in a time-limit draw. The following month at Fight for the Fallen, Allin teamed with Joey Janela and Jimmy Havoc to fight against MJF, Shawn Spears and Sammy Guevara, where they were defeated. After the match all the three members of his team blamed each other and went for a brawl. The three had a Triple-Threat match at All Out, where Havoc won the match.
In January 2020, Allin entered the AEW Championship #1 Contender's tournament, where he was eliminated in the first round by Pac. Allin developed a feud with Geuvara and had a match at Revolution, where Allin defeated Guevara. AEW then introduced the TNT Championship and announced a tournament to crown the inaugural championship, where Allin was eliminated in the semifinals by Cody Rhodes. In May 2020, Allin participated in the first ever Casino Ladder Match at Double or Nothing, which was won by the debutant Brain Cage. Allin was away from television for a short period of time and returned to Fight for the Fallen by attacking Cage with the Skateboard. Allin then teamed up with AEW Champion Jon Moxley and successfully took on Cage and Ricky Starks in a Tornado Tag Team Match. Moxley offered Allin an AEW Championship match, where he lost. He then participated in Casino Battle Royale and got eliminated by Cage.
TNT Championship & Alliance with Sting
In October 2020, Allin challenged Cody for the TNT Championship at Full Gear, where Allin defeated Cody and became the TNT Champion for the first time. Cody & Allin then worked as a unit and feuded against Team Taz. In December 2020 at Winter is Coming, Allin & Cody faced Hobbs & Starks and won. After the match, when Team Taz tried to attack Allin & Cody, Sting made his AEW debut and attacked Team Taz to join hands with Allin. Allin defended his championship against Cage at New Year's Smash Night 2 and successfully retained it. Allin and Sting worked together as a tag team and had a match against Team Taz's Cage and Starks in a street fight at Revolution and won in a cinematic way.
Meanwhile, Allin successfully defended his title for the second time against Scorpio Sky. He then had various title defenses until May 2021, when he dropped his title to Miro by ending his title reign of 186 days. Allen developed a long-term feud with Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page and had a tag team match with Sting and won. Allin ended the feud by defeating Ethan Page by a win in the first-ever Coffin match of AEW at Fyter Fest. At AEW Rampage, CM Punk returned to wrestling after 7 years and made his AEW debut to challenge Darby Allin at All Out. Where CM Punk won the match by pinning Allin.
Allin battled with the Hardys where he teamed with Guevara & Sting to defeat Matt Hardy, Andrade El Idolo, and Isiah Cassidy and won. He then wrestled Jeff Hardy and lost, where he jumped from the top of the ladder which became viral in the media. In December 2022, Allin challenged Samoa Joe for the TNT Championship at his hometown Seattle, Washington. Where Allin defeated Joe and became the TNT Champion for the second time. Allin defended the title four times in four weeks, he lost the championship back to Joe after a 28-day reign in a No Holds Barred match at Dynamite.
He challenged Christian Cage for the TNT Championship at WrestleDream in October 2023 in a Best of Three match but failed to win. After the match, he and Sting were attacked by Cage, Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne. They were saved a debuting Adam Copeland. All these took on each other at Full Gear 2023, where Allin, Sting and Copeland emerged victorious. On February 7, 2024, Allin and Sting defeated Big Bill and Ricky Starks to become the AEW World Tag Team Champions. However, Sting was announced to compete his retirement match at AEW Revolution 2024. Thus, whether or not they retain the title, Allin was going to lose it whatsoever.
Yhe Young Bucks were the Number One Contender for the title and challenged Sting and Allin to Revolution. Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat took the job of the timekeeper. Ric Flair and the two sons of Sting, Steve Jr and Garrett made run-ins to assist their father in the match. Eventually, the champions won the match and Sting retired, thus leading to Allin vacate the title.

She is a fellow professional wrestler currently signed to WWE where she most prominently was a member of Toxic Attraction alongside Mandy Rose and Jacy Jayne. In August 2020, she announced that she and Allin had parted ways with each other and were divorcing. Four months later, in Vickie Guerrero's podcast, she confirmed the divorce and stated that she and Allin remained friends after everything.
