About AEW WrestleDream 2024
AEW WrestleDream is a pay-per-view (PPV) event organized by All Elite Wrestling (AEW). The first event took place on the one-year anniversary of the passing of Antonio Inoki. WrestleDream is held in honor of Inoki. He was the founder of New Japan Pro-Wrestling and, to quote AEW’s CEO Tony Khan, “wrestling’s greatest dreamer”.

ROH World Championship Match - Mark Briscoe (c) vs. Chris Jericho
Chris Jericho challenged Mark Briscoe for the ROH World Championship at AEW WrestleDream. This match was motivated by a personal feud between the two wrestlers, with Jericho drawing comparisons with Briscoe’s brother during the challenge. Briscoe accepted the challenge, and the match is expected to be a highly competitive and intense bout.
Darby Allin vs. Brody King
On Dynamite, Darby Allin issued an open challenge to the AEW roster to step ahead and face him at AEW WrestleDream. He did not have to wait much as the challenge was accepted by Brody King, one of the tallest yet athletic wrestlers on the roster.
AEW TNT Championship - Jack Perry (c) vs. Katsuyori Shibata
On the fifth anniversary of AEW Dynamite, the AEW TNT Champion Jack Perry was challenged by Katsuyori Shibata. After attacking Shibata from behind, Perry accepted the challenge and a match was then set up for WrestleDream.
AEW International Championship - Will Ospreay (c) vs. Ricochet vs. Konosuke Takeshita
Will Ospreay regained the AEW International Championship from MJF a few weeks ago while his former enemy Ricochet made his debut in AEW. The two collided on the October 2nd episode of Dynamite but Konosuke Takeshita interfered and attacked both the stars. Then, AEW CEO Tony Khan took to Instagram to announce that the three star will take on each other at WrestleDream.
AEW World Tag Team Championship - The Young Bucks (c) vs. Private Party
On AEW Collision, Private Party won a three-way tag team match against House of Black (Malakai Black & Buddy Matthews) and Top Flight (Dante Martin & Darius Martin) and earned a shot at the AEW World Tag Team title, which they will get at WrestleDream.
AEW Women's Championship - Mariah May (c) vs. Willow Nightingale
Willow Nightingale, Jamie Hayter, Nyla Rose, and Saraya battled it out in a four-way match to determine the number one contender to the AEW Women's World Championship. This was won by Nightingale, who will now go on to challenge Mariah May at WrestleDream for the title.
AEW World Championship - Bryan Danielson (c) vs. Jon Moxley
Bryan Danielson put his career on the line for a shot at AEW World Championship at AEW All In London 2024 against Swerve Strickland and became the new champion. Danielson announced that he would now defend his full-time career in all his world title defenses and then went on to retain the belt against Jack Perry at AEW All Out. A few weeks later, fellow Blackpool Combat Club member and former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley.

AEW WrestleDream 2024 took place live from the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington. It is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Tacoma, Washington. Built in 1981, the stadium has a capacity of around 21,000 fans. The event has been the home to numerous WWE shows including House shows in the 1980s, RAW and SmackDown in late 1990s and early 2000s, Spring Stampede 1999 and also recently the 2019's Stomping Grounds event.

Where to watch AEW WrestleDream 2024?
AEW WrestleDream streamed on PPV, like other major events of the company. For PPV, fans could buy the event on either Triller TV, PPV.Com, or even YouTube in the United States, Canada, and select International markets. It also aired on the traditional cable and satellite providers in the USA and Canada, and aired at select Dave & Buster's locations in the USA.
WrestleDream History
AEW and NJPW began a partnership in 2021 where wrestlers from the two promotions regularly showed up at the other company. Their partnership further expanded in June 2022 when they organized the AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door event. On October 1, 2022, NJPW’s founder and pro-wrestling legend, Antonio Inoki passed away.
He was an inspiration to many, including AEW’s co-founder and CEO Tony Khan. At AEW All In media scrub in August 2023, Khan announced that the company will be organizing a PPV named AEW WrestleDream on October 1, 2023, the one-year anniversary of Inoki’s passing. The event is named WrestleDream because Khan considered Inoki as “wrestling’s greatest dreamer”. The event was renewed in 2024 and confirmed to be an annual affair.
