History of WWE Speed

The concept for WWE Speed was originally tested back in December 2023, but after securing a partnership on February 8th, 2024, WWE announced that Speed would officially launch on April 3rd. It also added an extra layer of excitement – a tournament will run alongside the show, crowning the first-ever WWE Speed Champion.

Where to watch WWE Speed?

WWE Speed can be watched exclusively on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). The show premiered on April 3, 2024, and is expected to be a recurring program. Since it's a new program, it's unclear yet whether WWE will offer the episodes on other platforms like their streaming service Peacock or their YouTube channel. However, for now, all you'll need is an X account to catch all the action of these fast-paced, three-minute wrestling matches.

List WWE Speed matches

The matches in WWE Speed will take place with a time limit of three minutes. These will not be live matches and will be pre-taped before the programming of Monday Night RAW or Friday Night SmackDown.

WWE Speed Championship

The wrestlers on WWE Speed all fight for the top prize - the WWE Speed Championship. In the tournament to crown the inaugural WWE Speed Champion, Ricochet defeated Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh defeated Axiom, Bronson Reed defeated Cedric Alexander, and Johnny Gargano defeated Angel in the first round. In the next round, Ricochet defeated McDonagh while Reed punched his ticket to the final by beating Gargano. In the finals, it was Ricochet who became the inaugural WWE Speed Champion. Candice LeRae was the first champion in the female division.

Current WWE Speed Champion

Dragon Lee is the Speed Champion in WWE as of March 2025. He won the title by defeating the former champion Andrade on the November 15, 2024, episode of WWE Speed, which aired on X on November 20, 2024.

WWE Speed Women's Championship

Just like the men's title, WWE introduced a female title for WWE Speed. An eight-woman tournament was held to crown the inaugural champion, and it included Naomi, Blair Davenport, Iyo Sky, Lyra Valkyria, Piper Niven, Kairi Sane, Elektra Lopez, and Candice LeRae. LeRae defeated Sky in the finals of the tournament to become the inaugural champion on October 4, 2024.

Current WWE Women's Speed Champion

Candice LeRae is the WWE Women's Speed Champion as of March 2025. She won the tournament by defeating Iyo Sky and was crowned the inaugural WWE Women's Speed Champion.
