The ninth chapter of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will take place across the Caribbean Islands and in the United States of America (USA) between June 02-29, 2024.
The 20-side showpiece event will see sides get divided into four different groups. Each team will lock horns with the remaining sides of their group once.
The top two sides from each group will qualify for the Super-8 stage, where teams will be divided into two groups of four. The top two sides from each group will advance to the semi-finals.
The semi-finals will take place in Guyana and Trinidad on June 27 while the titular clash will take place at Bridgetown, Barbados, on June 29.
T20 World Cup 2024: Uganda Squad
Uganda will look to make an impression at the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The 15-member squad, led by batter Riazat Ali Shah, boasts of an impressive balance of youth and experience.
The batting unit will be led by Roger Mukasa (leading scorer for his team since January 2023), Simon Ssesazi, and Ronak Patel, while spin-bowling all-rounder Alpesh Ramjani (65 wickets @ 8.40/4.58 & 469 runs @23.45/130.27) lends necessary balance to the team.
The pace bowling unit, meanwhile, will be led by Bilal Hasan (32 wickets @ 14.65/6.11), Robinson Obuya, and Cosmas Kyeuta. The spin stocks, apart from Alpesh, will be spearheaded by left-arm orthodox Henry Ssenyondo and right-arm leg-spinner Brian Mastaba.
Uganda has been drawn alongside former world champions West Indies, 2021 runners-up New Zealand, giant killers Afghanistan, and Papua New Guinea in Group C of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
