The ninth edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will take place across the Caribbean Islands and the United States of America between June 02-29, 2024.
The 20-team showpiece event will see sides get divided into four different groups. Each team will lock horns with the remaining sides of their group once.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super-8 stage, where teams will be divided into two groups of four. The top two sides from each group will advance to the semi-finals.
The semi-finals will take place in Guyana and Trinidad on June 27 while the summit clash will take place at Bridgetown, Barbados, on June 29.
T20 World Cup 2024: Pakistan Squad
The Pakistanis have named a solid squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
The Babar Azam-unit boasts of tried-and-tested names like Mohammad Rizwan, Fakar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, and the young duo of Saim Ayub and Azam Khan in the batting department.
Veteran spin-bowling all-rounder Imad Wasim has been added to the all-rounder’s department alongside Shadab Khan.
The pace department is stacked with the likes of Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, the returning Mohammad Amir, rookie Abbas Afridi, and the talented Naseem Shah. The spin bowling arena has been bolstered with the addition of right-arm wrist-spinner Abrar Ahmed.
Pakistan are drawn in Group A alongside India, Ireland, USA, and Canada. The Men in Green will open their campaign against the United States of America in Dallas on June 06.
