Brian "The Butcher" Harman is an American professional golfer born on January 19, 1987. He attended the University of Georgia, where he competed in the Walker Cup (2005 & 2006) and Palmer Cup (2007) while winning five amateur titles. After turning professional in 2009, Harman won his first professional tournament at the 2010 Manor Classic on the eGolf Professional Tour. In 2014, he earned his first PGA Tour victory at the John Deere Classic. As of February 2025, he has five professional wins, the most notable being the 2023 Open Championship, where he won by six strokes over Sepp Straka, Jon Rahm, Jason Day, and Tom Kim.

Following Harman's Open Championship victory, his wife, Kelly Van Slyke, hosted a celebratory party with a "The Butcher" theme, which eventually became his nickname. Harman has also represented the United States in major team events, competing in the 2023 Ryder Cup and the 2024 Presidents Cup. In August 2023, he reached a career-high Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) of No. 8, and as of February 2025, he is ranked No. 35.
