Wayne Parnell (Pretoria Capitals captain): It worked our nicely. It is also sticking to what we feel will work in a particular condition. I think it’s a bit different playing in the coast. There are lot of local and international players. Its about sharing information, just talking and timely execute. I think sometimes you can get too cute and funky. For us, it was just playing a positive brand of cricket and entertain people. Credit to every single bowler. Everyone managed to execute, they were switched on and so far it has been nice. That’s the kind of a man who has got us through. We want them to express themselves (on Will Jacks and Salt at the top of the order). When they do that they are at their best. Bonus points are definitely gonna come in and it will get tight towards the later stages.
Senuran Muthusamy (Player of the Match): Yeah, thanks Polly. Really grateful it came off today. Sometimes you bowl nicely and still don't get wickets so I am grateful. The crowd was great here. I think I played the first game and we have been winning. I was really grateful that these conditions allowed for an extra spinner. I had to be ready whenever my chance came. The pitch was a little tacky, two-paced. It wasn't an 80 wicket. It was perhaps a 140 wicket. I think the balls in the air went to hand which was the difference. Of course certainly (on whether he enjoyed bowling to the right-handers)>
Quinton de Kock: I am not too sure to be honset (on batting failure). It was possibly because of poor execution from us. They bowled really well. We expected swing and bounce, it was just a bad day from us. We had a chat during the middle overs to get to a respectable and play matchups total but nothing worked out for us. Even if there were two wickets at the start, we'd still be clutching at straws. Still plenty of games to go, we will look move on and look forward to the next one.

The target of 81 was never going to bother the Pretoria Capitals. They did lose Philip Salt on the very first delivery of the run-chase but it was just a blemish in an otherwise perfect day for the Capitals. Will Jacks turned it on in the second over for Reece Topley and with 25 runs already on the board under 3 overs, the result was a foregone conclusion.
The boundaries came flowing in the powerplay as Will Jacks looked to finish it off in a hurry. It was exquisite timing on display all through Jacks’ innings. He was severe on Hardus Viljoen in the final over of the powerplay, smashing him for 23 runs including a couple of fours and sixes each.
Jacks reached his half-century in just 22 balls and fell on 56 with just 3 runs away from the target. They got to the target in the 8th over and emerged victorious by 8 wickets and with 74 deliveries to spare.
Earlier in the day, it was Quinton de Kock who won the toss and opted to bat. It was a disappointing performance from the batters as they kept losing wickets on regular intervals and could never get any sort of flow to their innings.
After Wayne Parnell and Anrich Nortje’s superb opening burst, it was the spin duo of Senuran Muthusamy and Adil Rashid who totally turned the tide in their favor. They bagged 4 wickets among them, conceding just 22 runs in 8 overs. None of the batters could get any sort of momentum. Towards the end, it was Anrich Nortje who wiped out the tail, eventually bowling them out for just 80 runs.
