A resounding victory for Marvels, set-up in both powerplays. In the first, they picked up four wickets and in the second, they scored the highest total in LPL history. Dickwella got out in the first over but he had set the tone by then. Hales and Seifert carried on, even hitting Hasaranga for 27 in the fifth over. Hales played one shot too many and got out after the powerplay but Seifert carried on through the innings, even as wickets fell rapidly from the other end. The pitch didn't get easier to bat on. A bit difficult, yes, as it started to turn a bit more but Seifert was relentless with his accuracy and a couple of partnerships with Rajapaksa and Liyange did the job.
