So we have a rest day tomorrow at the Lanka Premier League! Thank you for joining us. This is Dwaipayan Mukherjee, signing off with Arya. We will see you soon!
Niroshan Dickwella, Galle Marvels captain: I want to praise the lord, it was another big win for us. I made a big mistake in throwing my wicket away and thankfully we had Isuru and Sahan who put up a great performance and took us to 170. I always like to take on the bowlers and bat aggressively. Even for Alex Hales, he likes to take some time on these slowish surfaces before scoring big so I wanted to also give him that extra time by being the first batter to be aggressive. Wanted to bowl first actually but later on I thought that it was a good toss to loose. We saw that even in the day game it was turning and gripping. That's when we thought we could bat first and defend. It was quite dry and there was lot of help for spinners and fast bowlers who varied their pace to good effect.
Thisara Perera, Colombo Strikers captain : It happens in cricket. It was a bad day for us. We can take a lot of positives from this game. I don't want to blame anyone, this is a team and we play as a family and I am looking forward to the next game where I believe we can get back to winning and do much better. Kandy is a nice place, we always enjoy our time here, the players have felt great, thanks for LPL organisers, they did very well. We are looking forward to the next phase.
Isuru Udana, Player of The Match : First of all I will like to give my man of the match award to Arachchige. I have retired from international cricket for three years now so this will give him so much confidence. Firstly, to be honest when we were 94/6, it was really pressure time. We just tried to stay there. When Glenn Phillips came to bowl I said to Shahan it was very difficult against Shadab so it was a good option to go after Phillips. That is why we managed to get to a competitive score.
Galle Marvels (179 all out) defeats Colombo Strikers (172 for 9) by 7 runs
This was an exciting chase right from the beginning when Gurbaz took strike after a sedate opening over against Maheesh Theekshana. It looked like the Afghan opener will put a stamp on the match but that was before Zahoor Khan produced what will potentially be the "ball of the tournament" to ensure that his side always kept chipping away with the wickets.
There were contributions from almost everyone in the batting order for Colombo but they lacked one batter from the top order who would really make a massive knock and prove to be the backbone of this chase. Everyone, barring Shevon Daniel, in the top six reached double digits but no one went past the 29 from Gurbaz. But Dunith Wellalage showed he has much more to his cricketing skills than his skilled spin bowling.
The young man took it all upon his shoulders when a direct hit in the last ball of the penultimate over meant that Wellalage only had Binura Fernando as his partner when 16 runs were needed from the last over and he declined a single which was on offer in the first ball of the over.
As far as the bowling is concerned, all Galle Marvels got their names into the wickets columns barring Dwaine Pretorius - who had a bit of an off day at the office. Maheesh Theekshana was the best with 2 for 20 from his 4 overs. A word of appreciation for Isuru Udana who had a forgettable day last night but came in at 94 for 6 today when his side was batting first and took them to what was eventually a winning score. He also backed it up with a solid bowling show.

19.6 Isuru Udana to Dunith Wellalage, WICKET! Galle Marvels win by 7 runs. That was a fullish-length delivery a shade outside off, Wellalage tries to muscle it down the ground. Doesn't get anywhere close to the contact he was after. Bat turning in his hands an he only manages to slice that straight down the throat of the long off fielder.
19.5 Isuru Udana to Dunith Wellalage, full-length delivery a shade outside off, Wellalage just about manages to slice that over the mid-off fielder, plugs on the outfield and he only manages to come back for a brace. 8 required off the final delivery.
19.4 Isuru Udana to Dunith Wellalage, SIX! The match is not over folks. Still 10 needed off two and Wellalage has kept the Colombo Strikers in the game with a massive six. A low full toss around middle, Wellalage shows the full face of the bat and comfortably clears the straight boundary.
19.3 Isuru Udana to Dunith Wellalage, nails the yorker again, a shade outside off, Wellalage comes down the track and jams it away towards the mid-off fielder.
