That's all we've got for you from this match but head over to the other tab to check the next match of CPL coming your way between TKR and SNKP starting in a while. My partner, Pratyush and I, Sudheer, are signing off at the moment as we come to the end of this match. Cheers and have fun!
Player of the Match - Nicholas Pooran (GAW): I had the opportunity to make it count and today was the day for me. I wanted to use my spinners in the middle overs as Odean Smith was doing a good job and so was Gudakesh Motie. I trusted them and backed them to do the job for me today.
Rovman Powell (JT): We didn't play well in the middle overs and that changed the match on its head. I need to carry on playing after getting a look in and that's something I will look to do in the match tomorrow.
Tallawahs have been humbled by an excellent bowling display of the opposition. Tallawahs batters didn't really get going at any stage of the innings as their top order struggled to push the run rate given they had a stiff target ahead of them. Kennar Lewis struck couple of maximums in his innings but he didn't last for a long time while his partner, Kirk McKenzie, tried to keep the innings going but again lost his wicket after getting off to a start. Rovman Powell and Haider Ali struggled to score runs in the middle against the slower bowlers of Warriors. Andre Russell and Carlos Brathwaite didn't find it easy in the middle as they got out cheaply and that sealed the things for them in losing this encounter.
Guyana Amazon Warriors have done a brilliant job with the ball as their captain, Nicholas Pooran, rotated his bowlers cleverly and restricted the opponents with perfect plans. The middle overs were the game changers for both the teams as Odean Smith and Gudakesh Motie picked 3 wickets each giving nothing away to the batters piled the pressure on the opponents. Naveen ul Haq also did a good job for his 2 wickets while Romario Sheperd got a solitary wicket to his name. This win helps them jump to the 2nd position on the points table are in serious contention for the semifinal spot. Their NRR also gets a big boost and goes into positives.
This is an excellent finish from the Warriors who were dominant right through the match and kept things tight and pressure on the opposition for greater part of the game only to come up trumps at the end of this encounter.
20.0
19.1 Naveen-ul-Haq to Veerasammy Permaul, OUT! LBW! That wraps things up! Naveen hits the final nail in the coffin. The yorker angling into middle and leg as it crashes into the pads. Little hesitation from the umpire to raise his finger and it's the Warriors who have battled through to get a crucial win tonight! A comprehensive victory that will boost their net run rate as well. Guyana Amazon Warriors won by 46 runs.
